  1. If my only interaction with Lackey was hearing somebody credible describe how he pitches for the Cubs I'd probably like him. But I can see him, and how he acts and reacts to others and what he says when he's not pitching. Therefore I know he's a dick. I can only hear Coomer when he speaks and he cannot speak therefore he sucks.
  2. So you like him, just not on the radio. What else is there? That one season he played for the Cubs? you can like people who suck at things and dislike people who are good he sucks at his job but he generally comes off as likeable in a goofy bumpkin kinda way. Maybe he is likable around the office but my only interaction with him is how he performs at his job and he is absolutely terrible at it so he sucks.
  3. I like the sentiment that in 2016 we are supposed to be more enlightened and accepting of tattoo culture, as if it's not the oldest and most boring form of expression around. Tattoos are terrible. The more you have the worse you are. (Sitting on a beach filled with phillies fans)

  5. he did not really. He's no longer president, but still chancellor and a law school teacher.

  9. that's what I said
  10. impact hitters on the cubs being rizzo, bryant, maybe russell because of positional comparisons. The rest are mostly good hitters or just not bad hitters which is what the team is made of. A lot of the rest are interchangable parts.

  12. they should at least be in the hunt for the division most of the year, no?
  13. is this an ad for levitra?

  15. Petition to bypass the filter just to say the actual name of the game. peg the closer
  16. Your dislike of Pat is really, really weird. I don't really have an opinion on Pat the broadcaster. I like Pat the person, as much as I know of him, fine. But I'm far from the only person here who has expressed similar sentiments about how the excitement in his voice when bad things happen confuses the hell out of them. I'm hearing that cadence and I think Rizzo is knocking a ball through the infield...NOPE it's Matt Adams making a great play. Sweet. Now I'm jumping to the exact opposite emotion from what I expected. I'm not a huge fan of Pat but I love that this sort of thing upsets people. It's not like it's Coomer blabbing incoherently for a couple minutes. Pat's going to react to a great play and describe that great play accurately. It's not difficult to follow along, assuming you know how to interpret human expressions of emotion.
  17. that's such a bizarre thing not to know freaking east coasters know nothing
  18. The Cubs will likely win this game and we'll barely remember it though bigslick has been liked a nice amount of times
  19. "I saw a guy take a pitch right down the middle and the ump made him go sit down. I will never let a pitch go by without swinging again." - Javier Baez's bat.
  20. ask her to get me a peanut not those peanuts, the ones at the bottom
  21. Billy's going to always try and do business with whoever gives him the best return. And judging by our FO's track record, that probably won't be us. Especially if we intend to use him as a reliever, while other suitors are going to be in the hunt for starting pitching. And Hill's looking to be one of the best options on the market, at least in terms of rentals. Shields, Fister, and maybe Cashner are the only other options I can think of off the top of my head. I'd just as soon pony up for Teheran or Fernadez and let the White Sox, Dodgers, and Rangers duke it out for the rentals. You act as if all this FO does is trade away trash for gold. Billy is going to take the best deal and the Cubs could offer the best deal. A competent front office isn't going to be afraid of dealing with the Cubs.
