  1. it was never a dick move maybe im sensitive because of the bartman thing, but players throwing tantrums over that is weak. Hold it together. Tantrum?
  2. votto isn't wrong to be pissed, but that's a dick move. Full disclosure: i hate votto. ETA: I just saw Votto apologized and gave dude a ball. "dick move" retracted. it was never a dick move Fans begging for balls suck

  4. the up the defensive spectrum part of it is what does not matter at all. it's a random collection of PA. Clearly means hes focused more on defense in CF, so he is thinking less at the plate and just reacts... thus turning into a very good hitter & good CF at the same time. Problem solved... Finally... they should think about having him pitch, he'd have to focus so much he'd be amazing at the plate

  6. He was on late last night so hopefully he'll get it up soon this morning. the morning is long over and his last post was 20 hours ago. he gone

  8. why would this matter whatsoever Moving up the defensive spectrum and hitting? Why would it be completely and wholly irrelevant as opposed to a even a little bit of a positive indicator? In 76 pa. He just happened to hit like that on days he played CF. there's no takeaway
  9. and that is the key takeaway
  10. Look, all we know is that he's in Cardinal Hell. he was smoking the devil's tobacco
  11. surprised to see this guy available for nothing at the deadline might be worth a shot
  12. why are we mad at joe nathan?
  13. I had no idea a major was bein played just down the road from here.
  14. Cards fans have noticed and they aren't happy
  15. If he does that then of course it does not matter. The issue is the approach tends to cause players capable of doing great things to not actually do great things. If he somehow manages to flail at a ton of stuff outside the zone but still produce, good on him. The concern is that things even out.
  16. Stop pretending like it wasn't a stupid idea to have them on new years eve. Maybe it was stupid. It wasn't a crime against humanity, which is what it was treated as by just about everybody. I thought it was a cool idea to have 6 awesome games over 2 days, but it didn't catch on. I don't think anybody treated it as a crime against humanity. They simply ridiculed the stupid powers that be that made a dumb decision.
  17. It's absolutely ridiculous, and i'm no fan of La Stella...then to run his bum ass out there as a starter, leading of day 1 back...gtfoh And NO, I don't give to 2 [expletive] what his "career #'s" against iwakuma may be. http://i.imgur.com/VCFBQ38.gif
  18. calling up coghlan and optioning lastella allows the team to keep both lastella and coghlan, while not calling up coghlan means they'd have to release him after his DL stint (a healthy vet can't be stashed for very long) I have to believe it is short-term. I see that, but La Stella being a lot better helps us win more games now. Just DFA Coghlan. He's scrap heap material. I'd probably prefer that one as well but GMs like to wait until the last minute before they make decisions that cannot be undone.

  20. you can only hide a veteran on the DL for so long and LaStella has options.
  21. I love him too. Maybe this is a bit nitpicking, but I found myself incredulously agreeing with Hawk on the broadcast today. On Russell's throw in the ninth, it didn't look... normal? Hawk then alluded to he might be having some shoulder discomfort. I hadn't heard anything about that. Btw, I switched over to the Sox broadcast for my own personal enjoyment at all times the cubs did well. He was fawning over how good Baez, Russell, etc are. Pretty shocking. yeah, I had the same comments with Wednesday's broadcast. I found it somewhat strange to hear both Hawk and Stone be so complimentary of the team and so many of the individual players. they even made it a point to talk about how Heyward was way too good of a hitter to stay down and stuff like that. staying out of comiskey has done wonders for Hawk's well being, and spending less time with Hawk probably helped stone
