  1. there is absolutely nothing clear about him being an upgrade he's three years older than cutler coming off two consecutive completely lost seasons he's most likely done
  2. they have lots of cap space with cutler still under contract
  3. He's a solid bet to be a Best Shape of His Life guy this spring training, already has Changed His Mechanics. Conditioning was never an issue so my guess is he's primed for a "as healthy as I've ever felt" situation and refocused/reenergized/rededicated. But he could fit a lot of these storylines next month.
  4. yes, whole lot of nothing pace doing nearly all the talking. lot of enthusiasm for coaching senior bowl and opportunity to draft high and talk of top 5 cap space. status quo, not enough shame
  5. [tweet] [/tweet] problem solved
  6. he also wasn't really punished in the first place. A suspension from playing college football as a freshman for punching a lady in the head? A regular joe could have been punished far more harshly. His status as a football player protected him. That was his second chance.
  7. no more, "yeah they are off to a good start but I'm not worried about them, it's the Cubs" no more, "well maybe this year your guys will win it, but probably wait 'til next year, amirite?" no more, "get back to me when they do something in October." We'll spend this entire season cheering for the reigning world series champion, and that team will have a great chance of going just as far next year. This is the strutting down the runway with a ridiculous outfit that actually works time of our lives as Cubs fans. Last year was experiencing the ride, anticipating the glory and exploding with joy. Now we enjoy ourselves.

  9. bears coaches are coaching senior bowl against browns coaches. this is what we're left with
  10. Nice to see Jim Halpert getting some work
  11. Patriots are amazing. The draft at a strength that nearly every other team is weaker at and use the riches to continue to be rich. It's brilliant resource management. Garoppolo isn't worth anything close to a 1st rounder, and yet some team very well may get desperate enough to pull the trigger and professional mouthpiece schefter bases his valuation on the fact that a desperate Vikings team gave up a 1 and 4 right before the season when they lost their QB in a move that was universally mocked and turned out awful for them.
  12. if the Bears don't improve in 2017 Pace and Fox are gone. There's no way they can justify bringing him back for a 4th year. 3 years is more than enough time to put your stamp on a team in the NFL.
  13. Why is Jimmy freaking Garoppolo being talked about with a 1st rounder plus in return? What a brilliant marketing plan by the Patriots.
  14. I don't think a team in the league fears going up against the Bears front 7 or their skill players. I'd disagree. They repsect them enough to most certainly gameplan for them, espeially with a healthy Goldman and Trevathan, Jeffery and Meredith. If they aren't afraid of getting gashed by Howard, then they're stupid as horsefeathers. I mean, it's the NFL. Teams gameplan for every team they play. That has nothing to do with being afraid of this lot.
  15. You can't?

  18. You spend the 3rd pick in the draft on an actual impact player that will play and produce in 2017 (not a QB), bring back alshon and cutler and a good chunk of the injured players plus a FA or two and you could have a respectable 2017 season. Being 3-13 this year doesn't mean they have to be bad in 2017. This is the NFL.
  19. 3-13 they already suck hard. any qb that tried to step in for him with this garbage team was decimated and/or threw 1,000 picks. They're gonna suck next season, too; old ass, crappy Cutler probably nets them MAYBE 2-3 more wins, barring the miracle he doesn't break yet again. I'm rooting for debacle Bears. Couldn't happen to a more deserving organization. Plus maybe it drives a few McCaskeys into the grave. That's fine, you can root for them to suck for whatever reason you hate them. But there's no reason this team has to be incredibly bad 4 seasons in a row. There is no excuse to not make significant improvements next season.
  20. if they somehow stay with the entire staff intact, there is absolutely no way they can even consider drafting a QB in the first round. That would be an amazingly stupid mistake.
  21. there's virtually no way they don't have turnover. At the very least the special teams coach needs to go. They were dreadful, especially returning kicks. The OC probably needs an upgrade but they should throw out Fox. You can't go 2 years in the NFL going backwards. This isn't MLB where you draft guys that may take 3-6 years to reach the majors.
  22. The article I read this morning stated it would be removed on 1/25, so this would at least seem to suggest he will be healing up more quickly.

  24. Let's move on from the 2016 season already. This tweet is probably something dumb. [tweet] [/tweet]
