  1. No franchise tag for Alshon.
  2. I would like them to remain relatively small or else they will run out of space later this decade and it'll look bad.
  3. just when bob costas steps away from the mic this cannot be a coincidence
  4. Sammy made a reference I didn't get...must be Simpsons. *googles* Yep. aww, that's the worst post I've ever seen
  5. You talking 'bout Tagiar Baez?
  6. Don't forget 4 infractions that go back to Nutt, the gift that keeps on giving. Always fun punishing players for something that happened when they were eight years old. leave Sandusky out of it
  7. if he needs that, screw him learn to pitch at a decent pace If a guy is at 20, 25, 30+ pitches for an inning I get why he'd need to take a step away off the mound after a pitch or in between batters and re-collect himself for 20-30 seconds, is all I'm saying. well then if you really need that breather take the automatic ball penalty. we're not talking about one 30 second break. There are guys who take ridiculous amounts of time between every pitch. That is bad.

  9. Sean Marshall for Travis wood
  10. Yeah, they use like 15 catchers in spring training, so Schwarber being among that group is a non-story.
  11. What am I missing here? pitchers and catchers report earlier than position players, yada yada yada, the bisque was good.
  12. Never forget how melodramatic new york sportswriters can be https://twitter.com/FisolaNYDN/status/830168821621223424
  13. WTF is wrong with sudden death? It's more exciting and typically leads to not having games last too long. Too much football is a bad thing, especially for the body. There is no good reason to play a bunch of over time periods until you end one with a team having a lead. It's a playoff game. It's not gonna happen that often. I'm just not a fan of sudden death...especially in a sport like football where possessions work the way they do. I prefer timed periods where they just play the game until the clock expires, like every other non overtime game. (Baseball is different, obviously, because it's completely different than every other major sport in how the "clock" works, so the home team sudden death thing is a very different animal.) Every time I ask this question nobody gives a good answer, and that continues. I just don't like it isn't an answer. Sudden death is good and fine and the way possessions work in football works just fine when OT comes along. You say yourself that it doesn't happen that often. This is another "solution looking for a problem". If you give NFL coaches the ability to play for the tie in shortened OT periods, they will do just that and games will go on forever.

  15. Is the coin flip that much of a factor now, with the flip winning team needing a TD to end it? What about the concept of a game that ends in a tie just continues as if the end of the 4th was the same as the end of the 1st or 3rd? If you tie it on a last second play, you kick off to the other team to start 5th QTR and its' now first team to score wins. I really hate getting hung up on the "fairness" question in OT because that never takes into account that both teams had the same exact chance to win in regulation. If you lose in OT you put yourself in a position to lose in OT by not winning in regulation.
  16. I get it though, he's expecting to finish at a certain time but then it keeps going and arms are getting sore and that carries over into the next day or even a week.
  17. Makes perfect sense. Makes no sense to me. I have no problem turning off a regular season game that's running late, or catching a couple minutes or couple innings mid-game.
  18. what the what? why is there any interest in completely overhauling the game in extras? Extra innings are not an issue.
  19. Super utility isn't a thing. And zobrist should play a lot of 2nd.
  20. So many people trying to solve non-existent problems. Once a game goes extras it's a treat and fun. Speed up first 9.
  21. he was also cloned to make Pedro Alvarez
