Sunday's game - which we really should have won - affirmed many people's beliefs that the team is good now and can probably hang with just about any team. The playbook is clearly mitigated due to Glennon's athleticism and that has to be frustrating for everybody - coaches, players, execs, etc. There's a very visible ceiling for the offense and the receivers' lack of separation would be a lot less noticeable with a QB who is able to extend plays and create passing lanes with mobility and improvisation This isn't even scratching the surface, as there is a world of difference in their release and ball placement, which are hugely important factors in a QBs ability, and just open up so much more offensive potential for the team. That said Pace really put his stamp on Glennon and paid a pretty penny to have him on the team and it's just difficult to see them actually abandon that experiment so quickly. Unless he comes out and is just an unbridled disaster then I think he's gonna get several starts to show his stuff. I don't see how Pace "put his stamp" on Glennon. He signed the guy to a big short-term contract then went out and drafted a QB 2nd overall. That's pretty much telling the guy you've got a couple weeks to do the job before we take it away. Also, how is it beyond you David that he isn't starting already despite some people at Halas Hall (there's a lot of people at Halas Hall) thinking he gives them the best chance now? It's a pretty simply concept.

Moveon.org Bears are 6.5 point dogs on the road against the mons venus. If they get their crap together they might be able to beat the spread again with a John Fox special. Glennon looked horrible for three quarters but did enough late to justify keeping the job, which is for the better in terms of Mitch's development. They will probably lose a player for the season this game. Who you got?

They were 32nd at getting turnovers last year and got 0 yesterday. May be just a coincidence. Well lets see...6 of their top 8 players in the secondary including all 4 starters were not on the team or didn't play last year. Then you look at the games missed by the front 7...its probably a good idea not to use last year's defense as data points. You have 1 data point, which is yesterday against a team that gave the ball away less than any team in football last year (tied with NE). And given that a majority of their offense from last year returned I think its fair to use that as a data point. I'm not saying the Bears are peak Lovie Smith era turnover machines, just that we really can't say one way or the other at this point. But you should use last year's team because the one constant is the scheme and fangio's scheme doesn't preach turnovers the way Lovie's taught.

Yeah, that's an absolutely terrible position to take. There's nothing anyone on this team has done (besides Russell probably) to make me even remotely feel any animosity toward them. They're a good bunch of guys that are just not playing very good baseball right now. Oh please. I'm a Cub fan since 1984. I will root for this team forever, and root for them to win every game from here on out. But there's no part of you that will say "horsefeathers you guys" if they blow this? You will just be "disappointed" and not the slightest bit angry? screw them, they suck and don't deserve it seems quite a few notches above (below?) the slightest bit angry. I will definitely be the slightest bit angry if they don't make the playoffs this year. But I can't imagine saying or thinking something along the lines of they don't deserve it, when speaking about this group of players that actually just won the world series 11 months ago.
