  1. if you think playing a lot of baseball games on consecutive days is part of the reason why the offense wasn't good, then I'm not sure how that bodes well for improvement in the next season.
  2. that was during the season/collapse. Today is a new day.
  3. Are the other teams not aging as well. Other teams are bringing in better players to make themselves better and offset internal declines.
  4. I think the Phillips stuff is funny, as a sarcastic response to the overreaction to McVay listing guys. The go to NFL coach's move is to list a couple numbers, "we have to cover 87", "going to need to contain 93", "can't let 12 beat us".
  5. the MTA's Dr. Z! http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2006/01/17/nyregion/about.583.1_.jpg
  6. don't do this
  7. There's always been 4-6 teams ready willing and able to give out the big money contracts to any one player and that is plenty to choose from for any player and easy to avoid the White Sox.
  8. I think I must be remembering wrong, but in my mind I got a push notification on my phone that he was signed and had no idea they were even in the mix. A couple of weeks ago I even looked for the thread to try and confirm that but couldn't find it. http://www.northsidebaseball.com/archive/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=64666&sid=477b44cfe63b78e1c6796bdda36e3597 Yeah, that definitely didn't come out of nowhere. It was discussed for a while.
  9. I'm trying to think if there's much need for strict enforcement. I don't think anybody will care if the shortstop is a smidge over to the 2nd base side. The potential rule is designed to keep the 3rd baseman from playing short-right field. Which nobody will even attempt after this rule. I just don't anticipate a lot of umpire enforcement being necessary. oh good, unenforced rules that the Joe Wests of the world will arbitrarily decide to enforce from time to time to get on television. This will go swimmingly.
  10. definitely looking forward to fat old incompetent umpires enforcing this stupid rule
  11. based on the remaining schedule, it looks like WAS has 2 remaining AFC games, while the Bears have completed their AFC schedule. Bears are 2-2 against AFC while WAS is 0-2. So, their 6 wins are all against NFC teams, and Bears also have 6 NFC wins. So, if WAS manages to win their last 3 games, to finish 9-7 and the Bears also finish 9-7, WAS will have 7 NFC wins and the Bears would have 7 as well. So you go past that tie breaker and probably end up at some sort of strength of schedule thing to get there.
  12. like when we argue over pizza places?
  13. The Bears opened as 4.5 point dogs and it is down to 3 now. The magic number for the division is also 3. This is a pretty big game and while Mitch has been hit or miss this year, I would really like to see him play since Chase has been so incredibly bad. The defense is going to have to show up. My fantasy team is on a bye so go ahead and shut down Gurley.
  14. horsefeathers the ricketts family and anything they attempt to influence in the political hemisphere
  15. I don't believe him. I believe the Cubs will have an aggressive pitch for Harper
  16. This literally just happened
