  4. I would just like to see him throw behind every runner from out there.
  5. There's probably an obvious answer I'm not thinking about....but with no one on base, no need to frame/receive the ball, and no umpire to protect, is there a rule that requires someone to catch/attempt to catch the pitch? Or can they go be a ninth fielder? I remember something about number of players starting in fair territory, but even like 40 feet back to catch foul tips/foul pop ups seems more 'effective' defensively. I would hate to be the pitcher who pitches to a catcher forty feet back of home.

  10. or it could be a double play which is twice as bad as striking out...or a triple play which is 3 times as bad! Making contact has the possibility of something happening (more good than bad) while striking out offers nothing. You just pretend double plays don't exist. Cool.

  12. They are protecting the demand for subscriptions to the networks that pay to air the game.
  13. Yes, Atlantic City is a very common nearby destination for Philly people. Athletes go there quite often. Many Philly athletes live in south jersey anyway, so it's even closer. They had an off day followed by a night game. How is this the part you take issue with?
  14. He was one of, if not the first cubs player I remember from childhood
  15. everything is a pain in the ass to get to in Florida
  16. St Louis is a terrible thing but the good thing about the NHL is it's really easy to ignore
