  1. Z was pointing at his head as if to tell Barrett to use his head more (How ironic, huh?). Then it looked like Barrett pointed at the scoreboard to show Carlos his one mistake is miniscule compared to all the hits Z had given up already. Then Carlos went ape and attacked. Actually, things were still calm right after the point to the scoreboard. Barrett said something else without pointing right before they tussled.
  2. I don't think there's any way someone can say anything other than it shows extreme stupidity and immaturity from both men, particularly Zambrano, and supreme blowage from the entire team. The only good could be if it inspires some personel changes.
  3. Just saw it in full again. Z's initial words to Barrett were actually somewhat calm, although the pointing to the head was insulting, to say the least. You can't see Barrett's mouth, but knowing how much he argued with Lou after getting picked off, I'm guessing he was just as bitchy in response. Just before the actual physical contact, Zambrano was backing away. Barrett must have set him off with whatever he said just before they clashed. Both definitely deserve blame.
  4. You think you're the first? I said one of the first. You want to brawl? Scoreboard you sunofa...........
  5. Carlos Carlos started the jabbing. Barrett's apparant defense for his stupidity was to tell Zambrano he was getting rocked. Things elevated and it looked to me both guys were looking for physical contact when it started. but it was basically reaching and grabbing.
  6. I do as well. I think he's melting down. He was arguing with Lou after getting picked off. Now he's arguing with Zambrano. Chip is blaming it all on Zambrano, but from my end it looked like both guys went at each other.
  7. Can't be, he's a horse. It's all mental. I put him on the DL tomorrow. Put Guzman back in rotation. Let the new guy catch for the rest of the series. Call-up Pie for center and bench Jones. Awesome fight in the dugout. Awesome.
  8. All the early soft contact has turned into very hard late contact. Zambrano once again has nothing.
  9. saw that coming from a mile away. Surprised they sent him.
  10. Jones with an 8 bouncer to the cutoff man. He wasn't even running for that ball to begin with.
  11. I'm pretty sure Barrett was trying to hit into a DP right there. That swing was the ugliest thing I've seen that actually made contact.
  12. I'm right here dude. I've been here the whole time. He's still the 2nd best OF on the team. No one likes you. 2nd best OF lol. Fans like you are content with below average players. Only a below average player misplayed that ball Wait, only below average players make errors? That's an asinine statement, just like the rest of the trash you spew. Unfortunately he is the 2nd best.
  13. wow, that's classy. What happened? Just got back to my desk. The Cubs needed Murton to play regularly and play well, he's not playing regularly and he's not playing well either. He's looked pretty poor out in the field. It's been said before, but that just reiterates the point the Cubs don't have a single OF playing where he should be playing. And they've got a couple guys on the infield who aren't ideal for their position either. Lee and Ramirez are the only everyday players playing where they belong everyday. Regardless if he plays once a year. A MLB player should be able to catch a routine fly ball. I'm not saying otherwise. The regular time comment was not an excuse for poor play. I said he's looked bad. My point is that the Cubs aren't getting what they need from him (regular productive play) WTP. Man. I didn't think that had a chance but it sailed much further.

  15. I think he can legitimately be a good defensive major league catcher who brings something to the table offensively. He'll never be a star. And he's probably not going to be a 6-8 year starter either. But I think that a team with a solid 1-7 lineup and good pitching could benefit from paying a guy like him minimum wage while spending the big bucks on other difference makers.
  16. I see what you are saying, but it's not like Soto is some raw young prospect who needs the playing time. He's 24 with well over 1500 pro plate appearances. He's either going to make it or he's not. Sitting on the major league bench for 2 weeks won't kill him.
  17. Barrett swung at a lot of junk in that at bat. Silly mimbo.
  18. Zambrano is laughing at Soriano's goofy play.
  19. BB/PA is .073, last year was .076, 2005 was .069, career is .066
