what beat writer? where'd you see/hear it? is he reporting or speculating? Bob Condotta is his name. He tweeted it as a done deal per his sources. A family member sent me a screenshot. It also said “possibly more” going to Seattle. -

Whatever fan survey statistic had the Cubs as the highest cost for a family of four, which was like $375 or something. So a little under $100 per person in revenue. I've seen those types of estimates but I've never been clear on if that is actually representative of the average(e.g. there's one version of this I've seen with borderline excessive food purchases). Similarly, there's some average cost per ticket stuff out there but when I poke around it seems like it mostly is talking about season tickets, which is helpful but not a 1:1 comparison. The one I looked up included 4 hot dogs, 4 soda and 2 beers, which I feel is the least likely purchase by any family of four, but probably a safe low end average. When I was a kid we didn't spend a dime on concessions. Now I can't go to a game without getting a half dozen beers as a starter.

It's admittedly the part I'm least sure about in the whole process. I would be a little surprised if it got close to $100/person in practice, but it's definitely possible it's higher than $50. Every $4 or so is another 10 million given the previous assumptions, so you can calibrate with that how you like. Says a lot about the culture of college football fans that the first two responses to a story about serial sexual harassment and violence at a top program are about the wins/losses and coaching options of one of the teams tangentially involved.

regardless, we're talking about the entertainment industry, half the people involved go by fake names. It is beyond strange to get worked up about somebody going by such a name. Champ Bailey isn't actually named Champ.

There is a decent reason to believe the oline is going in the right direction, especially the interior. Its not dire. I don't think it's necessarily gonna materially head in a good direction, but definitely not if a bunch of day 1 and 2 draft picks are gonna be departed with. It's young and talented in the middle, it's old and bad on the tackles. It's going to be tough if they trade for Wilson, but they have the opportunity to draft competence in the 2nd or 3rd if they so choose.

For some reason I just get the feeling the Pete Carrol and the Seahawks would actually love a chance to do a mini-blowup and rebuild a monster team in 2022. Pete wants to win games 16-7, he's a defense first guy who wants to run every play if he can. Hell, I could see him taking Bears picks and defensive players and signing freaking Mitch for peanuts with the sole purpose of doing that very thing.

The Bears are holding a "media availability" via zoom in lieu of the regular combine press conference. Wondering if it goes as poorly as the last time they met the press.

Bears hire Tom Herman as an offensive analyst/special projects coach. I think I like this hire. College head coaching experience, lots of offensive history. The NFL likes to take college gimmicks and incorporate them into the league, and this could be a useful idea for the Bears. Presumably he would also have a decent understanding of what you need from a QB coming out of college.

If the actual big dominoes start to fall, the Bears will absolutely get somebody new and potentially even interesting. But if these trades don't actually go down, and Dak stays put, there isn't anybody for the Bears to get and they'll try to pare Foles with a draft pick and make 2021 respectable enough to get 2 year extensions.
