  1. I mean, you get a fresh set of picks every draft so yes, it is sustainable.
  2. Theres some really good film breakdown of Fields going through progressions etc Props to the Bears scouts for planting stories to facilitate the drop
  3. Nagy should be There's definitely a scenario where Nagy goes and Pace stays (opposite probably not possible). How Nagy manages the QB situation, win/loss record, how the offense looks in general once Fields gets in there, will all play a factor. Byron Leftwich is interesting if they move on from Nagy. I think his style of offense plays into Fields' strengths. I would have thought no way a day ago, but yes, I could see the possibility. I guess if the offense is just complete trash this year but the defense keeps them alive enough to win some games there could be a scenario where they think Pace did his job but Nagy has to be replaced. I Highly doubt it though
  4. Good point. I'm definitely setting myself up for disappointment in a way I never did with Mitch.
  5. Agreed. Can't really be more tested on the college level as far as level of competition and high stakes games he played in over the last 2 years. He obviously has things to work on, but I definitely don't see him as a guy that needs to sit the entire year. For the record, I don't think Mahomes needed to either. In fact, I think almost nobody NEEDS to sit. Not really sure it's been proven either way that a QB learns a ton from watching someone else play football. I don't think it's a need either, but I think it's going to be a preference for Nagy.
  6. An article in the Athletic suggests it's going to be Dalton, Foles and Fields. I think that is crazy. Although it would all but guarantee Fields gets an entire year to learn.
  7. Well I am genuinely giddy about Fields. My whole theory about the stability of Pace and Nagy keeping their jobs was about giving Pace an opportunity to select a QB with a legit offensive coach's input. Trubisky was a disaster on all fronts, and a big part was the siloed approach to scouting and selecting him. When the head coach had no idea he was the guy, that's not a good thing. Pace and Nagy now probably have two years, 2021 and 2022 to make Fields look like he might be the real deal. They probably don't have to win 12 games or even make the playoffs this season. But as long as it is not a complete bed [expletive], 4-12 and Fields looks like trash kind of season, they'll get to spend next offseason trying to surround Fields with the talent needed to win. When does Fields start? Before or after Halloween? My guess is after. I doubt it goes the way of the Alex Smith / Patrick Mahomes transition, but Nagy has to be thinking that's the ideal scenario. Make the playoffs with the veteran, get the rookie one start then hand him the keys next offseason.
  8. I'm not saying the Pats haven't been able to convince people they somehow know how to find QBs. I'm saying the opposite. They have convinced people that they have some magic formula so everybody assumes if the Pats make the pick its the right one and then teams are willing to trade for guys who have no business being traded for that value. I don't get it. The Pats drafted Brady. That's it. 20 years ago when it was a different sport they stumbled on Brady. It's a one time thing.
  9. I forgot I took Bears first pick is a QB +400 Felt like easy money.
  10. Why are people pretending the Patriots routinely find under appreciated quarterbacks?
  11. Quarterbacks are slipping
  12. Seems unlikely. I mean, Rodgers has literally never in his life become so frustrated with an organization he spent half his life with that he chose to part ways on bad terms.
  13. Is this one of those blessing/curse statements like, "May you live in interesting times"? No idea what it means, really just posted it so I could do this
  14. I can't reconcile all the people saying it would be ridiculous for ownership to handcuff Pace from trading up and then praying Pace plays it boring to not risk the future. Here's the deal folks. The future isn't going to be bargained away. If they horsefeathers the bed and everybody is fired, the 2022 team is going to suck regardless. Pace came in with an empty cupboard and quickly built a contender. The next guy can do the same thing. I'm usually hesitant to want them to trade up, but I feel like going against the tide here and kind of hope for it. Especially if they lucked into Fields. Pace hasn't been a garbage drafter. He's bad at value and opportunity cost, but he's taken some good players. And now he actually has a guy with thoughts about offense having input into which QB they draft. I'm kind of excited to see where it goes.
  15. Tyler Bray would still make practice squad and have first chance at 3rd string.
  16. At this point I guess I just don't care. The only QB that matters is the next one they draft.
  17. um, its just a 6th round draft pick also considering how bad the bears are at getting a competent QB, they should try just about any avenue available to them So you would have traded for Teddy in addition to the Dalton signing? With Foles still on the roster?
  18. Am I supposed to wish the Bears traded a 6th for Teddy rather than sign Dalton? I've liked Teddy, but I don't think I prefer that to what is happening now. I mean, signing Dalton sucks but whatever, it's just money.
  19. The McCaskeys have literally always owned the Bears. Exactly I don’t think you’ve made the point you think you made.
