  1. There's a decent chance it won't be. I wouldn't say silly. I think the Saints will make in interesting at least though.
  2. why? Why are the Colts better? Because their QB is much better and more accomplished, they had a better season. They lost their perfect season by taking a dive and have been more impressive in the playoffs, while New Orleans lost theirs by getting beat and had a tougher AFC championship game. That being said, Indy faced a bad playoff football team in their game. And New Orleans absolutely deserves their shot.
  3. I was pretty certain you were not, and also fairly sure you weren't a complete moron either, so I'm still assuming you are just kidding around, because no reasonable person could think New Orleans backed into the Super Bowl.
  4. I assume now you are just trying to be a wiseguy because that's just a dumb accusation.
  5. Don't blame them for the fates of Brett Favre. a 5:1 turnover ratio doesn't scream confidence to me when you still need OT at home to win, Favre or no Favre. the Saints wont get that against a good team. What does confidence have to do with the asinine statement that New Orleans backed into the Super Bowl? I mean, that's just a really stupid claim. They had a great year, played the best competition and won. They deserve being in the Super Bowl.
  6. Don't blame them for the fates of Brett Favre.
  7. It's absolutely not debatable because it makes no freaking sense.
  8. you guys are pansies
  9. You know it's bad when a player is ready to retire because of the pain felt by someone else. Bad? Or heartwarming? Wood cares.
  10. I didn't realize the Blackhawks had a 17 point lead in the division and are the only team with a positive goal differential.
  11. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/3349 Nady deal official.
  12. His first pro seasons were at 2B, then SS/3B. I think the reasoning is weak here. His switch from a MI to a corner guy probably led to him beefing up, which led to his power. He wasn't going to be a little power hitting 2B.
  13. I think you are interpreting posts wrong. Nobody is locking in bets on this information. I think something like this indicates the Cubs have potential for being somewhat weak this season. A lot of people were assuming the Cubs were still the clear favorite when in reality it's probably more true that last year was less flukish and more indicative of an old team with many flaws.
  14. I think runs are up across the board because they didn't do much work with the depth part of the equation. I don't think the totals are all that meaningful. So it is pretty much totally meaningless, then. I don't know about totally. I think it shows where teams are in comparison to other teams, with their system.

  16. If it's going to be Rogers then I would assume there is a deadline to get things done well before the Super Bowl.
  17. They are still short a good starter, and have serious holes in the rotation and questionable lineup. I think they'll end up better than that, but the potential is clearly there for this team to tank. They are an older version of last year's disappointment with no significant improvements from acquisitions.
  18. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-0129-bears-chicago--20100128,0,3291564.story It doesn't really say anything meaningful, but the headline and first paragraph doesn't give me a good vibe. It's essentially suggesting that due to the embarrassment with the delay the Bears my rush into signing this Rogers guy to get past the bad PR they are dealing with. I maintain some optimism that they are being deliberate on purpose and would not suddenly change course just to end the bad headlines, but the fear remains.
  19. Boston has 7 guys in that list.
  20. None of them talking about college baseball, but rather thread placement. If that's what you hoped to drum up, congrats.
