  1. Jim Hendry has never been fired before in his life? That is crazy for a man in his business.
  2. What in the world is the explanation for this weirdness??????
  3. I don't give a flying fudgesicle about Crane Kenney and I don't know why any fan would. The man has nothing to do with the baseball team, he runs the business, and by most accounts business is good.
  4. SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP
  5. No explanation necessary, sir, please take the afternoon off and take some high class hookers out on a yacht in lake michigan and do with them as you may.
  6. I will temper my celebration all over your face.
  7. No he cannot because he never found one.
  8. Absolutely not. We have waited long enough. I am going to get so wasted tonight! Maybe I'll just start at lunch.
  9. I'm confused by this line of thinking. How is cutting a player with a guaranteed contract considered disciplining him? He's getting $18 million next year whether the Cubs cut him or keep him. I can fully understand disciplining him - suspending him for the rest of this season without pay makes sense in that regard - but how is cutting him discipline? Yeah, it is absurd to suggest that allowing the guy back after a long suspension automatically gives everybody else carte blanche. Finally chopping off Hendry's head should send another message on top of Z's suspension.
  10. Isn't firing Hendry enough for you? He needs to make the announcement
  11. This is what it must have felt like to be there when Lee surrendered.
  12. BUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE CLUBHOUSE???????????????
  13. I might have sex with the internet today.
  14. Sweet baby jesus it's a summer christmas time miracle. I want to have Tom Ricketts' babies.
  15. WHATWHATWHAT?????????????????????????????????
  16. Dempster was once a 200+ inning pitcher before he was a reliever. He had maybe 1500 professional innings as a starter by the time he was Samardzija's age. It was a matter of going back to what he was. I'm not really sure there's a good comparison there, or that you can have Samardzija do what Dempster did.
  17. it probably has, because they've jerked him around between starting and relieving a lot, and it's taken this long to get him to a point where he's actually an asset to the team. while that $3-3.5m would look a lot nicer over 200 effective innings, I'm not sure that would happen without a decent changeup and better command. Well he's only got 150 ML innings over the past 4 years so I'm not sure what they've been doing to him has been too damaging. Plus, I like his mechanics when he has them together and he looks like has the frame to handle a starters load if he perfects the rest of the art of pitching. Not sure why you just talk about his limited major league innings. He's got 313 of them over the same amount of time in the minors. 463 in total with maybe 200 as a reliever. He's been moved back and forth but at this stage isn't close to being stretch out enough to start. He's recently spoke about wanting to start, but I'm not sure he'd have much of a chance to contribute effectively as a starter, and if you are paying him $3m next year you probably want him to be effective.
  18. Personally, alot worse than not firing Hendry can happen this offseason. Missing on signing a big ticket FA (or two or three) would be insanely worse for this franchise both in the long and short term. Keeping Hendry has been the worst thing to happen to this organization for several years now.
  19. That's a lot of very long games if they are all still in progress.
  20. It's a one year thing, so I really wouldn't have much of an issue picking it up. I'm not sure the potential for getting him a little cheaper is worth the headache.

  22. Has anybody else reported on this supposed address?
  23. I was excited when I first heard that, but that's about the same price I would spend if I went to the bar every sunday to watch the games. Yep, Sunday Tickets does nothing for me. Obviously it's different in that if I wanted to I could watch my home team for free in my own home, but even if I wasn't, I think I'd much prefer going out rather than feeling the obligation to watch games at home since I've already paid for it. And I certainly wouldn't want to have to host my [expletive] friends every Sunday just so I could watch the game with other people. I started getting it when it was pretty cheap, like $120, and I had some roommates. We've hosted most weeks ever since and it's a blast.
  24. I don't really think that's entirely accurate. People thought he could start at RT from day one but might take time to become NFL caliber LT. It wasn't that nobody thought he could play it.
  25. Really damn impressive, UNAM has yet to lose in the Mexican league yet this season too, though its only 5 games in. I'm assuming the match was played at Azteca? No. It was some smaller stadium. Do the fans not have piss bags there?
