  1. I don’t know why it would feel like that, but luxuries are enjoyable when you possess them. If you have a QB and some WR talent, an elite RB can be a great topping to the skill position group for a nice 5 year stretch. Because our offensive line sucks and our defensive line might be literally the worst I've ever seen That’s what the money (and all the other draft picks) is for. It may not be the right move this season but it’s a perfectly reasonable option to consider.

  3. I definitely think RBs can be undervalued, especially early in the draft. Guys who would have been top 5 in the past lasting until outside the top ten is a great bargain. High end impact runners are valuable. Plug and play reliable guys are quite useful. But being a run centric offense is just not a good idea.
  4. Outshot 42-29, win 6-3 The hockey gods are punishing this pathetic franchise
  5. The dickhawks are absolutely gonna blow this, beating Boston 5-3 now.
  6. Watching a comedy bang bang episode whilr reading this news and Kyle Mooney is playing Monty the intern who is suffering from injuries sustained in an earthquake and selling overpriced hot dogs and I have to take that as a positive sign
  7. Apparently he’s a really strong pass blocker from what I’m reading? Im sure they’ll look for someone in the draft but they might be fine with Herbert and then Homer on some passing downs I guess if the WR room is good the bears are legally obligated to have a terrible RB room.
  8. Was poised to be fine with it but 3/18 is a steal for Detroit and screw up by bears without a major upgrade
  9. Yeah, I mean outside of Phillips he’s the closest thing to a lifer in this upper ranks of this organization and has to be viewed with a tremendous amount of skepticism.
  10. Plus worst receiver group in the league.
  11. I don’t want them to get rid of him either. But they’ve had a target on him from day one and tried to get rid of him all last summer. I’m not saying he can’t switch sides, but it is a position change and not as meaningless as you suggest. It just strikes me that with four other positions less settled than RG, the one lineman they sign is a RG, and the incumbent RG just so happens to be a guy they tried to run out of town already. As raw pointed out maybe that’s just because he was the best available interior linemen that meets their criteria.
  12. Well there are two guards on every OL so unless you think Davis and Jenkins can only play RG and not LG I don't really see the issue here. presumably you aren’t signing a guy to that money and then asking him to change positions. So it looks like Jenkins has to move again after they spent last offseason jerking him around. It seems to me that Poles doesn’t like Jenkins’ attitude. There were vague comments about toughness around him. Maybe they’ve worked through it and see him as moving to the outside. Maybe he’ll go to LG or maybe he’s a prime candidate for being let go. Either way, I don’t think Jenkins is a long term piece in Poles’ mind, yet.
  13. I had a dream that I was going in for back surgery last night. That’s concerning to me.
  14. Is it a coincidence or a sign of things to come that with the needs at nearly every spot on the offensive line the one guy they’ve signed plays the position of the one guy they almost ran out of town last summer but ultimately settled in as the best of the bunch?
  15. So much for spending on the important positions. That’s a lot of money for linebackers.
  16. What was the move that Gabriel fell for?
  17. It was mainly a curiousity on my part, I don't expect the team to trade him as they likely won't get the same high 2nd that they gave up to get him. The main reason I wondered about it is that Mooney and Claypool are FA after this year. You can pick one or the other to extend, but I kind of like the idea of picking up JSN so that there is another fixture in the receiving room. If Claypool (who claimed he is/could be a top 3 reciever in the league) wants some stupid amount of money it ends up being a 1.5 year rental for a pretty high pick. If you could recoup some of that capital it might make sense. I totally get being happy to have lots of receivers, especially with tools and past production. id rather give fields a chance to have a relatively stacked WR room for what is pretty much his make or break season. Claypool and Mooney potentially having career years with Fields would be worth the chance that they lose one of them to free agency. I’d much rather be in position to lose free agents than needing to sign a bunch of them.
  18. Everybody knows DJ Moore. The best part about this trade is that none of these QBs are worthy top 10 picks but they will be because of the position they play and that’s great for a team picking 9.
  19. Unless they find out he was smoking marijuana while participating in the race that killed people, he’ll be fine.
  20. And seriously, if you ever see me doing something you don't like, PM me and I will *always* respond. This is a group effort. Sometimes our goals will align, sometimes they won't. But I'll listen every single time and give my own reasoning for any decision. Obvi, that applies to everyone reading this. I’ll lurk daily for 20 years and post once a month, contributing nothing but a quip that three or four people find funny and everyone else ignores. This I promise you. Oh and pictures of Cardinals fans with Nazi tattoos.
  21. Who had Blasingame on the “which current bear will be first to sign a multi year extension” bingo card?
  22. Need to play Mrazek more. Or just keep being the Blackhawks (and giving up goals to former Blackhawks)
  23. Hawks getting outplayed again and winning 3-2.
