  1. Pffft. That's just reasonable fan concern. Nothing wrong with that! you were complaining about the thread. Don't be a hypocrite now.
  2. ? Gamecast for me has him walking to lead off the inning, did he get picked off? he tried to do what rizzo did yesterday, steal a base on the pitcher as he's still going into the stretch. The assumption was he wouldn't bother looking, but they had to realize the Cubs plan. The pitcher stepped off and then threw to 2nd as he got caught in a rundown - or pickle if you prefer.
  3. they were floating potential remaining opportunities for the Cubs to use their leverage to salvage a really bad situation.
  4. I think there's a middle ground between "losing our [expletive]" and being concerned that the possibility of the trading deadline going badly is higher than it seemed to be a few weeks ago. It is my belief that this thread has well surpassed reasonable concern. well that's just silly. It's blown up from time to time but is pretty obviously relatively measured statements of justifiable annoyance.
  5. hahaha, Pittsburgh can't score off any Cubs pitcher except the big game choker
  6. too lazy to go cover first you fat ginger adulterer?
  7. Probably, but when trades actually get this far put together and it's up to the player, the odds that it stays quiet have to be very very low. Especially when it's deadline time and everybody is looking at the story, and it is a player everybody expects to be traded. It's just not realistic to think you can keep that out of the media.
  8. boo to the ginger on the mound. Get out of here you bum.
  9. Yeah, conditioning has never been a problem.
  10. I really, really doubt that. If anything, guys who were "old regime" supporters take the first chance to leave.
  11. boooooo to the guy who deleted his post about waiting for the game to start that he posted just after the first pitch
  12. You can't put him in the bullpen. It serves no purpose and doesn't help the team. I think what he was getting at is it completely [expletive] with his value as a FA after 2013. It obviously doesn't help the team beyond the leverage they might gain right now by threatening to do that (if they chose to do that). yes, but that's overtly vindictive. It would be a horrible signal to send other players that ultimately serves no purpose. Unless you want to spend the next 10 years trading off guys who have 10/5 rights and just prove how much you'll screw with a guy that exercises them. If you can't get anything of value in trade, hold onto him and bring him back for one more year and go through this all over again next year. But if he's on the team he's starting. The team is desperate enough for starting pitching.
  13. that gives no indication she was abducted, only missing. Could have been a standard "silver alert" situation. But other sources do confirm the abduction.
  14. You can't put him in the bullpen. It serves no purpose and doesn't help the team.
  15. I would guess he'd be looking for 3/30, or if he really holds up all season, 3/36+.
  16. I would be more disappointed if either was traded for lesser value. But yeah, it would be a knock against them and their plan.
  17. that will certainly make us attractive to free agents The confident ones at least.
  18. Vogelbach ahead of Jackson? Are you kidding?
  19. they still apply. that has come up before, I believe with Lee
  20. That's probably true. I can't think of anybody obvious, that's for sure.
  21. No love for froot loops, apparently. plus, you know, he's injured.
