    I was at this game and hung around to watch Dascenzo throw the 9th for the Cubs. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199107020.shtml He actually pitched a couple of times and the season after this he showed up to pitchers meetings at spring training.

    ?? I think he's talking about the renderings of the outfield party deck thing ( or whatever it's called) looks like a lot of weight for those 2 post to hold up, I'm sure there's more to it than what it shows.

    Otani and Fujinami are going to get ridiculous contracts when they end up coming over. I bet both of them exceed 200M. Standard pitcher disclaimer of if they stay healthy. How old will they be by then? At least we should have the big tv money by then (hopefully).

    I always figured injuries held him back after his strong rookie year and that the reason he performed as well as he did this year was simply because he was healthy. I see no reasn he can't have a similar year statistically next year. I do agree he's not the greatest defensive outfielder and that he makes a more valuable 4th outfielder than starter.

    Turner is doing alright, I have some confidence that Bosio can turn him into a good 4th or 5th starter.

    I guess Baez has gotten to the point where he can't even make contact with fastballs now, that first K was on a fastball that seemed to catch a large portion of the plate.

    There was an interesting article about what Sheffield thinks is wrong with Javy today. Something about his back leg collapsing. Link: http://es.pn/1CidcTa. Mueller made some comment about how they are happy with the damage he's doing on pitches in the zone. Lately he's been whiffing on clearly hittable pitches right down the middle though. I think pitch recognition is 90% of the problem but mechanics could be a smaller part of the problem.
