  1. On BP's podcast the guys that did the top ten were on, falling over themselves with Almora love. Can't get excited about Almora he was pretty awful in AA. maybe he comes around this year I know he's still young for the level but he didn't really show he could hit at all in Tennesse. They seem so sure he's going to hit and even talked about him possibly growing into more power. I just don't see it. His value as a prospect seems to be carried by his glove but if he keeps hitting like he did in Tennesse (I know small sample size) it won't matter how good is defense is.
  2. Who cares what Kyle says?
  3. He postulates the Cubs either have to move Castro to LF or trade him. False dichotomy. Well that's stupid
  4. Saw this tweeted today, found the back and forth between those two funny.
  5. With there being a lack of SS on the FA market maybe someone grossly overpays in a trade for Castro, that's about the only way I see them trading him. I don't get why so many writers seem to think we are in a rush to trade Castro. He's good, he's young and he's signed to a team friendly deal.
  6. Gotta disagree with that. I really doubt Castillo is likely to come near Martin's offensive numbers next year never mind that Martin is a much better catcher all around than Castillo is ever likely to be. Everyone was ready for 2014 to be Castillos big offensive breakthrough season. Sadly I think he is what he was this year offensively. I cringe at giving Martin 4 or more years as much as anyone but he's a much better player than Castillo for at least 2 more years. He's not likely to be worth his contract in year 3 and 4 but that's just the way it goes with free agency if you want to sign guys you have to over extend more years than is reasonable. I'm ok if they go 4 years but I'd rather they didn't go 5 and I'm not going to be disappointed if they don't sign him at all, maybe we find a guy we can trade for to platoon with Castillo.
  7. All this waiting around sucks... Is going to be weeks before anyone of note signs isn't it? Damned!!
  8. It's nice to see the optimism but his numbers in the afl were weak and I doubt we see him called up until the 2nd half of the season unless he tears the cover off the ball the first couple months of the season in Iowa. Even then they don't really have a pressing need to rush him unless there is an unforeseen injury or trade.
  9. But if they want to take our middling talent... well that might be ok
  10. love it! Tim who are we trading to get Puig in your dream senario? He said Castro. I feel like that's a little light for Friedman. Oh yeah that's right, I think that's light as well, they'll want more I think.
  11. love it! Tim who are we trading to get Puig in your dream senario?
  12. God I love Maddon, I couldn't be more happy that this guy is managing our team. Pre-game interviews are going to be so much fun. I could listen to him talk for hours.
  13. Probably has something to do with when the Rule 5 draft is. When is that?

  15. I thought this had to be named by a specific date but I cant seem to find what that date is suppose to be
  16. It's like he wasn't paying attention to the Cubs bullpen at all this year. I found the Robertson thing kinda mind boggling.
  17. So Voglebach was 0/1 today... with 4 walks
  18. Gonna be pissed if they don't stream this press conference on csn's website. Maybe espn will cover it.
  19. Makes sense now
  20. So they are announcing the hiring of Maddon at a bar owned by rooftop owners kinda interesting.
  21. Well most of the people who live here are not from here, they are transplants from northern cities. Snowbirds and retired folks. They bring their own fanships with them and I don't think they ever feel the same way about the teams here as the teams from where they are from. That gets overlooked a lot. I love baseball, but I don't give 2 hoots about the Rays.
  22. In a very short period they lost Price, Friedman, and Maddon. Not to mention their park is a [expletive] hole. Gotta be a tough time to be a Rays fan after the last few years success. Yup that stadium is terrible, the only time I've been there was when the cubs played there a few years ago haven't been back. It's like a giant Highschool gymnasium, a terrible place to watch baseball. They could draw fans but not in that dump.
  23. I live just north of Tampa it's funny how pissy Rays fans are being over this. Most people I talk to bring up tampering right away. I think they are going to be pretty disappointed if they think Cubs will be found guilty. I really want to get a Cubs Maddon Jersy this weekend just to poke the angry bears.
