Murton with another solid game 2 for 2 with a walk as well, thats great to see. Cedeno with another bad game =(

Neifi at .280 with 3 dingers. ah my bad they were both hitting around .200 6 days ago, I had to find some more recent numbers. Nefi is hitting .294 coming into today and Cedeno .229. I guess Nefi is not so bad as long as they keep him batting 7th or 8th. Id rather see them keep running Cedeno out there though, I think he will get it figured out. Looks like the offense is actually pretty much what we will see during the season minus Cedeno and Barrett hopefully. This is the first time I can remember seeing this many regulars in the lineup and it looks like they are producing today. (stats courtesy of USAtoday.com)

If Im not mistaken Nefi has had just as crappy a spring as Cedeno. they are both batting around .200 arent they?

I would have to agree with you, he missed to much of spring training for them to make much of a decsion on him. I think he'll go to AAA and we'll have him to call up if we need him. -

He'd make a good platoon partner for JJ, he's been sidelined with a oblique injury lately though. He hit .322 against left handers vs .222 against righties last year -
Much of it is because we continue to run only half of our regulars out there. I think that with the entire starting lineup out there we'd be scoring alot more runs.

i came late, can anyone tell me if his 2 errors were throwing or fielding, or was it one of each? Well I know the second pulled Derek Lee off the bag, the Seattle announcer seemed to doubt that was the case and Dusty argued the call, but when you come close to pulling Lee off the bag you have made a really bad throw. Im not sure on the first error.

what the heck is wrong with Cedeno today? He's suppose to be a defensive guru but he almost made his third error of the game there, the 1st baseman had to tag the guy. He needs to work on his throwing.

So Willamson only pitched to 1 batter? Why do we keep getting these wierd splitsquad looking lineups? When will we start to see the every day lineup? We just put a guy at first and a guy in the outfield niether I have ever heard of.

Restovich is hitting .257 with 2 HR and 1 2B 5 RBI in 35 AB Pagan is hitting .360 with 3 HR 3 2B and 6 RBI in 25 AB Pagan also has 3 SB to Restovich's 1 Just thought I'd throw the stats in here. Of course these are only through the 23rd (from rotowire) so Im missing 4 games of stats. -
Will missed ABs in ST hurt Lee and Barrett?

I dont think the WBC hurt Lee as much as the shoulder problem and the family problems that caused him to miss games. Lee got as many or more at bats during the WBC than he would have gotten during spring training games. Barrett however there may be cause for concern there, the US team should never have taken 3 catchers and barely used Barrett at all through the WBC, I think his lack of at bats could hurt him. -
How many failed bunt attempts is that for Pierre this spring?

If Jim hadn't gotten Howry and Eyre people would have complained all season how Hendry sucks cause he didnt try to upgrade the bulpen. He did what he had to do to sign the guys he felt would improve the pen. Injuries or no injuries I think it was the right thing to do, Im really excited about the bulpen going into the season, the first time Ive been able to say that in quite a while. I think it could wind up being one of the best bulpens in the NL. If we get our starters healthy we will deffinantly be the top team in terms of pitching. Im not crazy about JJ playing rightfield but Im not sure who else he could have brought in. Howry + Eyre = money well spent.

should be interesting to see how Jones does against the left hander, he's notoriously bad against left handed pitching. He's suprised me so far with how he has hit this spring, Im hoping his off-season work with Tony Gwyn really pays off. anyone have his strikeout to walks ratio this spring? Also wonder how he has done against left handers this spring.

Finally a good looking lineup, still mising Lee but other than that very close to what I expect to see opening day. I had hoped Lee would play today, any word on when we can expect to see him Bruce?
