  1. That 2B not to be named went 2-2 with 2 BB's today...
  2. Theriot is the brightest example of Cubs management incompetence. He's a horrible SS, whom, 2 years ago, people were wondering if he had enough to be a competent utility man, and now he's the everyday leadoff man. He fills the position that most needed replacement going into the season, and management did nothing. Pitchers are just going to throw him strike after strike because he's not a threat to do anything with most pitches. Through no fault of his own, he's the current symbol for all that has ailed the Cubs of the Andy/Hendry ERA. What would you have done to improve the situation? Trade 5 or 6 players for Roberts? Trade for Greene who has a worse OBP than Theroit? Something else? Greene's SLG and Defense would be an upgrade over Theriot.
  3. I don't see why this thread needs to be locked. I think it'd be more fun just keep it alive and let it keep growing. If people don't like it, they don't have to read it.
  4. Cubs WIN! Bring on the real games!
  5. Thanks guys, I already did it. The more I thought about it, the more it made sense.
  6. Perhaps a Marquis for Sean Rodriquez deal... Wasn't there an unsubstantiated rumor about a Jacque for Sean Rodriguez last summer? It may have just been some dumb sportwriters pipedream though.
  7. I'm really leaning towards taking this deal. After looking at both Santanna and Sabathia's usage over the past 3 years, I'm a little scared by Sabathia's jump in IP's last year, but I feel Santana is just as likely to go down. Both have stayed relatively healthy their entire careers. The upgrade from Tulo to Hanley puts it over the top. I would just like a quick second opinion before I pull the trigger. Thanks guys.
  8. That's what I'm thinking, and I have to think Hanley may regress slightly.
  9. I have a solid team, great pitching (Santana, Smoltz, Oswalt, King Felix, Rich Hill, Gorzelanny), but I may need a few more steals. I've been offerred this trade. Should I accept. I get: Hanley Ramirez C.C. Sabathia I give: Johan Santana Troy Tulowitzki I think Johan is going to be money, but this is tempting... What do you guys think?
  10. I would love to see The Riot post a .350 .375 .725 line this year with 30 SB. However, I just don't see that happening. Something like .340 .350 .690 may be too optimistic...
  11. Wow, pretty bold prediction for Soto, with Martin, Molina, McCann all young and in the N.L.
  12. So you're saying the umpire of love might have made some favorable calls for him? I think that's just one of the many perks of being a MLB player... i was at a spring training game at the Toronto Blue Jays' stadium last March and I can tell you that many player wives aren't all that great. Sure, big fake boobs, but caked on makeup, tacky clothes and voices like nails on a chalkboard Good, I'm glad these guys are saving at least one of the good one for me! ;)

  14. I'd just like to know how Soto got an infield hit to the pitcher. It must have been a perfectly placed mistake... edit: Nevermind, I apparently can't read. He got hit by the throw to first.
  15. Only 6 out of 7, he takes the Sabbath off...
