  1. Nope, no coincidence-it is in fact in before the lock. thanks. now if I can only figure out what the "PB" in PB-Max stands for... is it Paul Bunyan?
  2. color me stupid, but what is "IBL"? Is it "In before the lock" like that animated gif suggests, or was that just a coincidence?
  3. yeah i think a lot of us agree that this would be best, unfortunately the Marlins and Yankees don't agree We need to get Cerano to use his voodoo to trick the yanks or marlins into said deal... Personally, I'd like to trade Z out of the national league.
  4. Who gives a crap what side of the plate a guy hits? I don't care if the Cubs have all lefties or all righties as long as they hit. What side of the plate a guy swings from is right up there with one of the most silly ideas in baseball. Lou Piniella cares. He plays the lefty/righty odds straight by the book. I don't see why it's silly - better odds is better odds. I suppose you want Jacque Jones hitting against lefties? You are missing the point. Getting worked up about what side of the plate someone hits from is less important (the point it's not important) than than whether they can hit. I don't want the Cubs getting a starting position player simply becuase he hits X handed. I don't want the Cubs to worry about trading a player simply because he hits X handed. I want the Cubs to start the best 8 position players they can regardless of what side of the plate they hit from. If the Cubs had a lineup of Damon CF Utley 2nd Bonds LF Caberra 3rd Abreu RF Dunn 1st McCann C Jeter SS I wouldn't complain that they had too many left handed hitters. Even with that lineup, the Cubs would find ways to not score runs.
  5. http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2000/04/2007-free-agents.html So, not very good...
  6. I was thinking the same thing lastnight. When will people (ie. Zambrano, Marquis, Ohman, et.al.) watch Hill pitch and realize, "Hey, maybe if I throw a strike once in a while, I can be effective too!?"
  7. I just wish the yankee's would realize how much he sucks and just unload him. Do they need any left handed bullpen help?
  8. Since I don't know the betting "lingo" I don't know what it's called if I think it won't be over OR under, but even... I think Zambrano will have exactly 4.5 walks. push Thanks. I'll take the push then. (I hope I phrased that correctly.) I thought I had that one. I was only .5 off though...
  9. Last I heard, Prior was fully healthy and ready to go full speed with the rest of the team. Yep. Heard the same thing. Is this for real or is it a sick joke? Unfortunately I'll never be able to make myself give up on Prior. Anyone know when his first scheduled start @ Iowa might be. I'm only 5 hours away -- might be willing to roadtrip down there to see Mark for old time's sake. I think he's slated for Friday or Saturday...

  12. Is this the 8th or 9th game this year where the ump had a bad strikezone? I can think of 2 instances off the top of my head where the umps had bad strike zones this season... but I'm not saying that should be any excuse. Players NEED to adjust to the bad zones.
  13. to give wade some credit, the Ump had a pretty bad strike zone (at least, it looked that way to me.) Still though, he hasn't done much to excite me any.
  14. this is why firefox is great... just ad-block the image.
  15. For what it's worth, I ran track and cross country back in the day. I took a year off after high school before going to college (I had a scholarship, but needed the break). During my year off, I trained every day twice a day. Then one day, my hamstring went "POP" and my face hit the track pretty quickly. It wasn't the worst hamstring injury ever, but it was more severe than what it appears Soriano suffered. My point to all this though is that I could walk just fine with the injury, but once I'd try move faster or use any "strength" I would feel like I was going to collapse. So when Soriano walked off on his own power, I was still a bit scared...
  16. I don't mean to be insensitive or anything, and I know several people that go to VT, but there are about 89 firearm deaths on the average day. This is a horrible tragedy, but there are tragedies everyday. You can't cancel events for every tragedy especially when there's no connection between the tragedy and the event. I agree with this post completely. If it was a Chicago Cubs v.s. Virginia Tech Hokies game today it'd be a different story. And the way the Cubs are playing lately, VT would be a tough game, so it'd be a good day off.
  17. I think I've figured out the problem... all these years, he's been visiting Dwight Yocum instead of Doctor Yocum... it's an honest mistake, really.
  18. Not really new news, but things still sound promising. It makes sense... Carlos IS in fact Hispanic.
  19. At this point, I'd be happy to see Murton hit the ball out of the infield...
  20. Is Marquis the new Matt Clement? Run support always coming up just short... losing 1-0, 2-1, 3-1?
  21. I don't disagree with you, but I honestly thing if Z REALLY WANTED to pitch for the Cubs, he'd take whatever legit offer we gave him. I know it would be rough to live on 15 million instead of 16 million (He'd have to wait another year before he could buy a small tropical island). I hate when I see stuff like this. It's arguing that you shouldn't have the power to negotiate for more money if you are A. happy where you are and B. richer than most people. Why not look at it the other way? If the (far richer) Tribune Corporation REALLY WANTED Z, they'd take whatever legit offer Z came up with. I know it would be rough to live on 1.49 Billion instead of 1.5(They'd have to wait another week before having the GDP of the Dominican.) I like your attitude! Good comeback as well. I see both sides on the argument, so it's tough for me to pick one... and when I finally do, you come up with a good counter... thanks! :-)
  22. 4 votes from me. Unfortunately I can't talk any of the cardinal fans down here to vote for the Cubs even if it's against the Astros. Yeah, I'm having the same problem...
  23. +1 Vote from the st. louis area. If only I could pull off the same kind of upset in a poll like that over here... :::sigh:::

  25. I hope one day I have to attempt to support my family on a measly $12million/year. I only hope that because I think it would be a "humanitarian" thing to do... to live in such poverty. It would make me be able to relate to the "common" person a little better as well, ya know what I mean?
