  1. Ya he benefited from good defense for his super bowl win but he was a monsterously good qb then. Most of his playoff runs he was throwing lights out to get as far as he did. This time he's truly just a game manager.
  2. Comes down to Manning. The Manning that showed today could allow Denver to win. He didn't turn it over and managed the storm. That said, he's a rigid statue these days and Carolina's D is fast. Meanwhile, Cam can move. Both defenses will get pressure. The few times Cam escapes for big gains will probably be the difference. Manning was terrible and was the main reason the game was close. He threw it up for grabs and receivers made plays. He was able to hit a wide open Daniel's twice. This is the 1st time Manning has had to rely on his defense to carry him to win games. It's fun to see the old man get this shot with the worst QB play he's ever had. I completely disagree with the Carolina has this easy talk. Peyton made some weak throws but Sanders ruined a perfectly thrown ball that would have been a ~30 yard touchdown or so by stutter-stepping when he shouldn't have. He's still plenty capable.
  3. I get more done on Mondays, but just barely.
  4. If you stick with the leaguewide package it will only cost $110 now and you will not have to opt out.
  5. Smart move by the 49ers after their endless array of debacles last offseason.
  6. Any baseball board could just leave up a Dodgers sign Cuban (x) sticky.
  7. #22? Haha, Chinese not giving fair warning on # changes eh? Hard to believe.
  8. Wow. Reds are gonna lose a whole lot of games.
  9. I agree with just not risking it. He'll still be way ahead of the curve for his 'rookie' year. Lost seasons suck hard.
  10. Ricketts is just inarticulately rephrasing Theo's comments on taking advantage of the incredible value Jake brings before he hits FA.
  11. I assume he means that the padres are saving $18 million? Isn't Gyorko owed about $33 million more on his deal? Ah, good call. Worded oddly is all.
  12. This is hilarious. Serious number crunching there.
  13. Why is Bennett not being involved more? I'd be shocked at this point if he's back next season. I think both sides will be more than happy parting ways, unfortunately. Zach Miller has been fun but injury history doesn't bode well there. As far as the cap goes, moving on from Bennett and Forte and freeing their cap # off the books will provide plenty of flexibility. Jeffrey on the tag or locked into a long-term deal is fine with me. If the coaching regime stays in tact somehow there will be a lot of reason for optimism going into next season depending on what Pace does, but he's earning my trust. His 1st draft class is clearly a success, albeit still hinging highly on what White turns out to be. This game will be another example of the Bears having a solid plan and executing just badly enough to lose. But I think they continue to stay competitive. Hopefully, not the utterly depressing end to turkey day most pictured earlier in the year at least.
  14. Nah granderson had to move a couple steps give him credit
  15. Omg I forgot what something positive felt like
  16. But there's so many great reaction shots of depressed fans in the stands and more talk about Murphy
  17. Of course. Nice way to wrap things up there.
  18. Hmm. I've been just sad since last night.
  19. Unfortunate to lose Ego for the year. Who's the best replacement here? Houston? I watched the game on a crappy stream and I'm not even sure who played how much.
  20. Going 0-2 with Lester & Arrieta has lost most of my confidence in taking the series. But the return to Wrigley should bring the return on the dongs. With enough of those, perhaps they can make it back to the cesspool known as Citi Field up 3-2.
