I'd love to get ARod for Z under the right circumstances, but saying Zambrano can't throw strikes is absurd. Not really. Z led the majors in walks (115) last season.

Seriously, how uncool would it be if everytime Carpenter has a good start I come back and bump this thread? 30 or so bumps would be annoying, trolling and wouldn't contribute anything of value to the board. Much like your post which was... dumb. The last time I checked this was a Cubs board, not a cards board. Thanks for playing, troll. How is he trolling? He's just pointing out that he thought it was dumb to point out Carp's bad game last night, knowing that Carp isn't going to be that bad everynight. I'm pretty sure everyone would agree that Carp is an ace and he's not going to be nearly that bad this season. By calling a post/poster "dumb" (left intentionally ambiguous no doubt) repeatedly? I didn't make the point he said I did anyway. I just hoped that his poor performances would continue and never said that they would. He just decided to misinterpret my remarks and made an inflammatory comment (twice) to get a response. That's trolling. But whatever. I'll just ignore the troll from now on.

This sale has got me very nervous. The conspiracy theorists said the Trib only came out the pocket b/c they were going to sell the team and low and behold the team will be sold. Now they're going to put a hold on the Z contract? Jerks. Whether this was all premeditated behind the scenes by the suits in the Trib, I have no clue, but it certainly looks suspicious. I guess it is all about the bottom line, but as a Cubs fan, I could give two bleeps about how much money they make. I care about the product on the field. I won't ever stop being a fan of this team even if new ownership drives it into the ground, but I certainly won't spend the same amount of money on tickets/jerseys/etc in the future. Of course this could be the best thing to ever happen to the Cubs. We could luck out and get an owner that actually gives a rip about the product on the field and the fans. At least Selig has some say in who can buy the team. I'll love that man forever if he makes it happen. -

No, no, no...He is right. Carpenter is definitely going to suck this bad for the rest of the season. He just didn't look right. ESPN's gun had him at Prior/Miller velocity for the portions of the game I could stomach. I didn't pay that close attention but I could have sworn I saw 92/93. His FB was regularly at 89 mph. Maybe he's going through a deadarm period, but you'd think he would have had that already in ST.

Are you kidding? WTH! MLB.TV doesn't show ESPN games live. It will be available on archive (but unlike the other games, it might not be archived immediately--at least they weren't in the past). They figure you can watch them on TV (and ESPN pays big bucks to carry the game...) Yeah, I just wasn't aware this was on ESPN2. I'll just run over to a friends house and watch it, but still... LAME.
