  1. BP has an unflattering article about the Milton Bradley signing: http://baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=8578#commentMessage I've been against this signing from day one, and I'm really hoping Bradley can do something to alleviate my concerns. I would've preferred any number of options, even Bobby Abreu. Especially for one year.
  2. Bad for us. Looks like another 1st round exit. :bye: Come on.
  3. If it was reasonable to expect Schilling to contribute, I'd have to imagine he would have been signed by now.
  4. So is there any chance he won't make the major league roster? I kind of doubt it.
  5. Arguments that are about nothing but semantics sure are worthwhile.
  6. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=324&f=3852&t=2626681 In case you missed, Sir Sidney turned in a performance for the ages this evening. Shutting down a vaunted Met's offense, this young man showed heart, guts, and the well known Sidney Sizzle. Truly a glorious occasion, and proof that his young man's talent won't be denied.
  7. This is getting to be just too much.
  8. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3898085 That's their answer to losing Teixiera, I guess.
  9. Yay! That's all I've got.
  10. He's got a fat bat and a sweet lil swing. Look for at least 9 ding dongs!
  11. With Dunn, the Astros could have a very good offense if a few things fell their way (particularly the performance of Towles and Pence). The pitching should still be a mess, though.
  12. Another reason that Lou and Hendry would be interested in this is that they probably view Hudson as an option to get Soriano out of the leadoff spot. Not saying I agree with it, but I'd be shocked if their interest isn't related to that.
  13. Blind pessimism is annoying, but so is blind optimism. Just throwing it out there.
  14. I'll agree with you on Schmidt, but I don't think anyone advocated signing Zito. It was clear to everyone but Brian Sabean that he was on the decline Plenty of people wanted Zito (though you're right in saying Schmidt was the popular option).
  15. I don't think ding dong means what you think it means.
  16. The 2002 Cubs make me think of only one thing; Mark Bellhorn. He was so frigging good that year. On paper, that team really doesn't look that bad.
  17. I'm moderately shocked we haven't seen wrigley23 make an appearance in this thread.
  18. BP had a good piece on Matt Weiters this week. They have him as the best catcher in baseball next year by a decent margin. I like Josh Vitters and all, but eek.
  19. From a center fielder that'd be outstanding.
  20. I know a lot of people have been asking for it; http://images.royalsreview.com/images/admin/bigbako.jpg
  21. Eek. Just let Marshall have the job.
  22. Without Cedeno, I'd think Uribe might be in line to join the Cubs. He could back up at 3rd, short, and 2nd. Not supporting it, but it seems logical.
  23. What he said. If this was as much of a no brainer as it seems like, than Sheets would be signed by now.
