  1. As I've said before, I'm completely on the Mark Teahan bandwagon if it wouldn't take a king's ransom to acquire him.
  2. Looks like it might be worth getting to this game on time after all.
  3. I've got tickets to the game, but it's rainy and crappy down here at the Loop. Am I a bad fan if I wait around until the game looks like it's going to start at risk of missing the first inning?
  4. There's been discussion about his struggles in other threads, but he kind of needs his own at this point. What the hell is wrong with him? I'm surprised that there haven't been more suggestions that his arm is finally worn out. But anyone have any other theories?
  5. I'm only going to count since I became a sports fan.. Bears: 0 Cubs: 0 Hawkeyes: 0 Yeah!
  6. The amount of times Hawk calls the Sox "a good team playing bad baseball" every single broadcast is stunning. I wonder how long it's going to take for him to stop it.
  7. What's the story on him? Does he have a future?
  8. Doesn't it get old to make horribly outlandish trade proposals that would absolutely never happen? Yankees get: Koyie Hill Red Sox get: Melky Cabrera Cubs get: Mark Teixiera, Alex Rodriguez, Babe Ruth, Jason Bay, Josh Beckett I don't see the allure.
  9. He's having an excellent season regardless of how he does in this series. I hope that continues. He's one of my favorite Cubs.
  10. Isn't Ohka going tomorrow against Theodore? That's Saturday's matchup. Crap. I'm going tomorrow, thought I was going to be seeing Lilly.
  11. Isn't Ohka going tomorrow against Theodore?
  12. Reading WSI is all kinds of hilarious. They're swearing about the number of "guests" visiting the board, assuming they're all Cubs fans and fuming about it.
  13. I just got back to my apartment. I was this <-> close to leaving early.
  14. One of the better games I've attended, to be sure.
  15. I managed to trade my tickets for Tuesday's game for tickets to today's, as I could not have gone to a September makeup. If this one now gets rained out too, I give up.
  16. Teahen actually seems like exactly the kind of player we should target. He's inexpensive in both prospects and dollars, and he really is a poor man's DeRo. He's even logged innings at second this year, which surprises me. Count me in as a supporter of this move, but I haven't heard Teahen's name as being out there.
  17. It might just mean sending Soriano to the DL. Or benching him. Either way, I'm guessing it involves Soriano heavily.
  18. 2008 Cubs without any hesitation. If you're asking me if I'd rather have a World Series than a playoff sweep, the answer is obvious, but the 08 Cubs would drum the 06 Cardinals.
  19. The best teams in baseball go to the world series and play each other. No they dont Wait, the '06 Cardinals wasn't the best team that year? [-X They were the best team when it mattered, yes. So that's another way of saying they got lucky, right?
  20. The best teams in baseball go to the world series and play each other. No they dont Sure they do. It's a simple palyoff system that pits teams against each other. The good teams advance. And sometimes they don't.
  21. Aaron Miles trying to prove all the doubters wrong. Yay.
  22. The first year Soriano's stayed off the DL has easily been his worst with the Cubs.
