  1. It'd be nice if we could at least scratch a damn run across. What's the pitching matchup tomorrow?
  2. He's having a rough year, but John Danks absolutely isn't a mediocre pitcher. He's a good pitcher with really good stuff, but has been very inconsistent this year. Correct me if I'm wrong but his problems start when he has control issues. The cubs have severely regressed their plate discipline this year so it makes sense he's doing so well today. From what I understand his stuff has been fine, and his control has been terrible. So yes, the Cubs are exactly what the doctor ordered for him.
  3. Didn't have any tickets in '06, then?
  4. He's having a rough year, but John Danks absolutely isn't a mediocre pitcher.
  5. Though I turned off the TV a couple of innings ago, the sound of Pat Hughes speaking is wonderful. I don't care if the Cubs are winning or losing, he is a stunningly good broadcaster.
  6. Shut up Seriously. Mind your manners I don't think he has ever said one good thing about the Cubs. He only posts when the Cubs scuffle or slump. He always talks about how bad the Cubs are and throws some fat Hendry jokes in there, too. His act is ridiculous and it's just flat-out trolling. Agreed 100%. And seconded. It's gotten very old.
  7. You dont have CSN? It's sad, isn't it? I have WGN and WCIU, but no CSN. I'm contemplating just listening to this on the radio, but I think I'll just bite the bullet and watch WGN. I'd go to a bar but I'm working on some research right now.
  8. Steve Stone speaking on WGN with Wrigley Field in the background... memories...
  9. The Nationals continue to be poorly run in more ways than one. The fact that they are actively looking for his replacement while he is on the job is really sad.
  10. Couple posts up. That wasn't fun. An hour waiting in the rain for SRO, for nothing. I can read, I swear.
  11. Any word on when this will be rescheduled?
  12. Anyone around the ballpark with a weather report?
  13. My friends and I are trying to figure out whether to go straight to the game or hang around and have a few beers first. Is there any chance it starts on time, in your opinion?
  14. I live in the Loop and this is looking nasty. I've got tickets and I'm going to head up, but I'm certainly not optimistic about this one.
  15. No pairs left for tomorrow. Not really down for going to a game alone. Has anyone ever done that here?
  16. Dusty definitely didn't have anything to do with Soriano coming to the Cubs.
  17. I'm not going to lie, I haven't seen much of Chamberlain pitching. I've been checking out MLB.com videos, and nothing he does seems that obnoxious. He has this tendency to walkoff the mound in a semicircle and take his glove off after every strikeout, but I couldn't find a single instance of obnoxious celebration in the four videos I watched, and they had tons of strikeouts. Have I just watched the wrong four?
  18. I'm glad to see that it does appear he's going through a lot of bad luck during this slump. I don't know his LD%, but it seems like he's been hitting balls fairly hard. He certainly hasn't been 4-3ing it the whole time.
  19. If the Cubs don't win it here, the season will be summed up in one at bat.
