  1. Sign Cordero. Sign Jenkins. Done.
  2. Here's the real question. If we were to acquire aging former Brewer left handed slugger Geoff Jenkins would he outproduce aging former Brewer left handed slugger Jeromy Burnitz? Burnitz 2005 line with the Cubs: .258/.322/.435 I loved Burnitz because of his attitude. That's the only reason to love him.
  3. We need to send in a team to take care of him. Who's interested in volunteering? http://l.yimg.com/img.tv.yahoo.com/tv/us/img/site/69/35/0000036935_20070111184710.jpg
  4. This was so obviously going to happen that it barely deserves a thread. Come on, did anyone not think this was going to happen?
  5. 4th on the depth chart in a system like their's isn't too bad.
  6. No one's overvaluing prospects; we don't want to give up Hill. He's no prospect.
  7. That was one of the most well written Hill defenses in quite a while.
  8. Personally, I wouldn't do Hill for Crawford straight up either. There are better corner outfielders out there that can be had for less. Jason Bay, for example.
  9. Actually, the real question is, why is it bad to be Al Leiter? He had a terrific career.
  10. Al Leiter didn't get a full season of starting under his belt until he was 30. And Carl Crawford has absolutely zero chance to be Barry Bonds. No one with any credibility has ever made that comparison.
  11. Who has ever compared Crawford to a young Barry Bonds? They're not even in the same ballpark, not in the same league, not even the same sport.
  12. So is Hill. And Hill is easily more valuable than Crawford. Easily.
  13. Then I'd do it in a heartbeat.
  14. Absolutely nothing said about this on Tampa Bay radio. I'm gonna say this one is not true. I've been listening to the radio for 5 minutes now and haven't even heard "Crawford," "Chicago," or "trade."
  15. Okay, I've got the stream going at work... they're not saying anything about a deal yet. I'll keep listening.
  16. To answer my own question, this is the station that is apparently reporting it: http://www.620wdae.com/main.html I'm at work and can't listen right now. Someone else try.
  17. Anyone know what Tampa radio station this is apparently coming from? I'm sure they steam online...
  18. Hm... I wonder if there's any truth to it.
  19. I'm not sure how you can compare Murton to Patterson. Murton is still a work in progress and put up good numbers in his only full season. And the issue here isn't that Pie may or may not succeed, it's that Jones and Hunter are both not good.
  20. Hm... well, Infante's gonna cost money and we sent a little money for Jacque. I think we'll end up breaking even or saving a million.
  21. Without looking at any numbers, I'm almost positive that's not correct. There's no way we have that much money to spend.
  22. He'll always have the "I was traded even up for Greg Maddux" though. Even his kids will get a laugh out of that one.
  23. Because he's Japanese and he's 30? Yeah, I get it. ...Wait, what?
  24. I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if Cesar's career is over.
