    I never said Theriot was better than DeRosa, what I did say was a interrogative statement asking why one automatically assumes DeRosa instantly gets the job at 2b over Theriot-if Theriot is forced from short that is-without competiton during spring training. Haha, what? And DeRosa should automatically be given the job because he's better than Theriot. The same reason Derrek Lee won't be battling Darryl Ward for the starting 1B job in Spring Training. Did you just compare Lee-Ward and DeRosa-Theriot? I really hope you didn't, I'm disgusted at the comparison. Really? Disgusted? Because the gap between DeRosa and Theriot just might be bigger than the gap between Ward and D-Lee.

    Agreed on all counts. And peddle Jones and Blanco if at all possible. I wouldn't mind seeing Blanco in a backup and mentor role for Soto. I don't see any GM taking Jones prior to the '08 season unless the Cubs pick up a significant portion of his salary. As I stated in another thread in Hendry's typical fashion of not knowing the true market value of players, I fully expect Hendry to offer Andruw Jones or Torii Hunter a 15 year/ $1 billion contract. I'm with you on Blanco. There's no need to try and get rid of him, he's a solid backup. He costs too much, but we're not unloading his contract on anyone, so we might as well keep him as a mentor for Soto.
