  1. Where does this perception (that is constantly repeated by several users) that we can get Erik Bedard for peanuts come from? Yeah, there was a rumor of Tejada and Bedard for Prior four years ago. It's going to take a lot more than that to get him now.
  2. Man, the White Sox should've just talked to us instead of paying all this money. The Tigers got Torii Hunter simply by giving up Omar Infante.
  3. Completely true. I doubt we could have acquired him though. I would've given up Marquis for him, but the Angels certainly wouldn't.
  4. What did I miss? He argued that A-Rod shouldn't have won MVP?
  5. With how cheap the Twins are, it's surprising they'd waste the pen and paper on this contract that has no chance of being accepted.
  6. Makes me jealous that we don't have the Pittsburgh Pirates GM. For those of you who haven't heard about this Q&A, I just saw it on FJM.com
  7. Lou seemed pretty disappointed in DeRosa not being able to play SS last season. With Izturis and Cedeno struggling at midseason and Theriot still viewed as a utility guy, DeRosa could easily have landed the SS job if he could play there adequately. I don't think the Cubs view DeRosa as a SS. Then Levine has gotta be wrong and Matsui is viewed as an SS. Otherwise, I can't even see the logic behind this move. I know it's Hendry, but come on.
  8. The only way this would not be the worst move ever is if they're convinced DeRosa can play shortstop full time (and if they're right). It'd still be terrible, but not the worst move ever.
  9. This was a complete brain fart. I honestly thought Cabrera was 28, not 33.
  10. http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2007/02/12/1171296729_0298.jpg
  11. Kenny Williams comes up with a steal of a trade.
  12. Given that this has surfaced absolutely no where other than Dave Kaplan, I'm optimistic that it's not going to happen.
  13. Still nothing from anyone but Kaplan. Hope he's wrong.
  14. I was listening when Kaplan said it. It's true. Barf.
  15. So has anyone actually heard this on the radio or are we just going off message board reports?
  16. I don't really expect Matsui to be a regular starter. He doesn't have a place to play.
  17. If Matsui is here, I'm confident that Fukudome will be as well.
  18. I'm not sure where you get the idea that Todd Walker was ever someone not good enough to be an everyday starter. He certainly was. And he's retired. I don't think he wants to catch on anywhere in Spring.
  19. I don't know where to put this, but quite frankly, it needs to be somewhere. I haven't heard Todd's name mentioned on these boards in forever. During his time with the Cubs he was a champ. He deserves to be remembered fondly and adorned with praise. Share your favorite Todd Walker memories. http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images/pic/PHO/AAGV230-2006StudioPlus~Todd-Walker-Posters.jpg
  20. I hope that by "decision," it is referring to his team selection, not just whether he's going to come to America.
  21. Actually, a Jenkins/Murton platoon would probably be quite effective.
  22. It really sounds like the Cubs are the only team even interested right now...
