By comparison, Juan Pierre had a stellar .330 OBP in his one year in Chicago. The fact is noted and it won't be used again but just for the rest of you: Khalil Greene last year had a stellar .291 OBP last year. But what was his slugging and such? You put Greene in Wrigley, he will dwarf Theriot in every category minus OBP. His OPS would probably be close to 200 points higher. They are two different players, Theriot is a total slap hitter. Khalil isn't exactly a power hitter, but they have different approaches at the plate. You can't use OPS to compare to slap hitters. Yes, you can. OPS informs you that slap hitters generally suck. It does just this for Theriot. I LOVE Ryan Theriot, by the way. But this thread is hilarious.
