  1. If MLB had real testing I wouldn't have wrote that. Wait, some guy in Brazil just tested positive and will be suspended for 50 games. The raid involving Grimsley opened everybody's eyes to the fact that pitchers likely take roids/HGH just as much as position players do. So it's not out of the realm of possibility that Prior did take steriods, growth hormone, or something along those lines. Fact is, we just don't know. doesn't house encourage his students to use andro or other near steroids?
  2. yea, the four of them should be good for 20-25 points. hafner on the other hand, you should worry about.
  3. So, what happens now? Do you make me a trade offer? actually, people have until sunday to make a claim. your options will be, release him, trade him to tadow, or retract the waiver Yeah, but can we work out a trade? Do I have to trade for one of his guys that clears waivers or can I trade for minor leaguers? you can trade for minor leaguers. you have to wait until sunday to execute the trade though in case someone ahead of him makes a claim.
  4. is a terrible manager. worse than dusty possibly.

  6. wow, that was awesome. len did a nice job dodging criticizing dusty too.
  7. yea, my pitchers decided to show up for a change . . .
  8. its done.
  9. I don't know if I agree with you on the Beatles being a tighter band (if that's what you said). To me LZ was Jimmy Page genius with perfect matching parts. All were brilliant musicians but the band was far greater than any of the individuals.
  10. the comma causes too many pauses. I assume you all can take care of this via a trade.
  11. Woulda been handy in 84. How so? I thought SD got home field due to a stupid rotation. That's right. Back then, home field advantage alternated between the East and West divisions from year to year. It had nothing to do with which team had a better record. yea, but it was the east's turn and the cubs had to give up a game because of the lack of lights.
  12. ask him if he is coming back to Chicago!
  13. the who shouldn't even be in the conversation.
  14. hahaha irony from the man behind the levees! LZ is the greatest band ever but the Beatles created modern music from the four man pop sound - they opened the doors to allow everybody else to pour through. to even have the courage to do what they did and risk everything is quite an accomplishment. So, I reluctantly voted for the Beatles. "All My Love" has to be the worst song ever performed by LZ imo.
  15. its so embarassing when the affiliates have a better record than you though - in a much much tougher division.
  16. well, Mike finished 171st after being eliminated by Gold (Jamie flopped a boat twice in three hands) - he was 24th when he was eliminated. I am interested to see what he thought of Gold - he almost seemed like much less of an ass than some of the better known players who seem to constantly try to get attention. I love how the names people have heard of are obviously the best players.
  17. Loretta is a great choice at 2b - the Cubs should stay as far away from Soriano as they can. Is Cat much better than Murton though? I'd plug Matt in the 2 spot and go from there. The $5.5 million question is, can Jones play CF? Followed closely by, would the Cubs even consider such a move?
  18. now 24th with 700k
  19. now 78th of 481 with 307k (well above average)
  20. wow, this whole tournament is now meaningless.
  21. free washer fluid?
  22. Exactly. What goes around comes around. It would be fine for the Cubs to claim Jones if they're serious about trading for him, but not just to block another team. If the Cubs were in contention blocking another team from getting a player would be fine, but not for a noncontender. That's ridiculous. The rules are the rules. No GM is going to not make deals because you followed the rules to make your team better.
  23. its hard to believe he blew three saves with those numbers. I would say he has a chance at ROY and CY but not MVP
  24. Shocking that the Cubs aren't the team with the fewest 5 plus walk games since 2004. not when you look at the angels lineup!
