  1. There is still no legit corner OF power and nothing really spectacular in the infield outside of EPatt, whom it appears, they are trying to make a LF.
  2. One of Hendry's biggest failures as GM has been his inablity to replace the corner OF power void created by departures of Alou and Sosa.(Up until the Soriano signing of course) Hollandsworth? Burnitz? Jock Jones? Come on. Granted I really think he wanted Beltran, but was not given the resources needed by Andy 'Fail.
  3. The best young crop of talent was in 03 when we had Prior, Wood, and Z in the mix for the rotation. Pie is the only position player worth mentioning. Theriot and Fotnenot are nice stories, but nothing to get excited about other than both are better options over Izturis.
  4. I was not happy how Piniella handled the Atlanta series, specifically the Reneria situation. After Renteria pulled that crap on Fontenot, he needed to go down. Yes I realize the issues with getting another arm tossed out of the game, but you have to protect your players. I expect some more payback for Renteria next time these 2 teams face each other.
  5. With the range of Soriano and Pie, IMO you could get away with Dunn in RF. I'd love to see Dunn in a Cubs uniform, though he would get roasted by ignorant Cub fans and media that would only look at his BA.
  6. Just DFA his arse and move on Jim!
  7. A trade...for Greg Maddux..st8 up!
  8. You are dumb and wrong.
  9. With Pie now in the majors, Veal is probably my next favorite Cub in the minors....he has looked good of late, the other night 5 IP 2ER 2BB 8K's His ERA is down to an even 6.00.
  10. I'd prefer not to give up Veal. He has been turning it around of late in AA. The Cubs should focus on upgrading offensively in RF, and stick with Theriot for the time being at SS>
  11. Jock Jones SS Angel Pagan C Darly Ward 1B Cesar Izturis LF Matt Murton 3B Jerry Fontentot 2B Felix Pie CF Cliff Floyd RF top that.
  12. True, but I think it is fair to say the Cubs fare pretty bad at the casino, compared to others.
  13. He was touching 93 on the gun regulary, has he always thrown this hard? I thought his fastball was around 90-91 range.
  14. My projection 2007 Rookie 2008 - Peoria 2009 - Daytona 2009 -Peoria 2010 - Peoria 2011 - Released by Cubs
  15. IMO, yesterday was the best game I have ever seen Hll pitch. It could have very easily been a no hitter for him. It was that good.
  16. I guess this thread was much A-Doolitle, about nothing! [rimshot!]
  17. It will probably get reduced to 1/2 game. My guess is 2 innings.
  18. That doesn't make sense right there...Floyd has been decent so far this season, and if Pie can keep it up, those are 2 good left handed bats, plus Jock Jones really doesn't make any difference.
  19. Can someone give me the 411 on Adam Miller?
  20. We are not getting Tejada for Jones-Murton and Marshall/Marmol. That is crazy talk. The O's will likely want at least 2 maybe 3 good young arms.
  21. So what is causing Porcello to fall? Besides Boras?
  22. I don't think the Red Sox have picked yet, guy. I'm sure they will pounce on Wieters, if he falls to them.
