  1. According to Hawk Harrsack logic, Marquis pitched a great game..LOL..he only had that one bad inning.
  2. We have been playing our best ball since Soriano got real hot. Yet stupid mistakes this team makes prevented a long winning streak. I expect this to continue throughout the season. For crying out loud we have to young pitchers, Hill and Marshall that have looked like aces out there. We should be 10-15 games over .500. One of the most underachieving teams I have ever seen.
  3. Hill, then Izturis...I'm calling a huge crooked number this inning.
  4. Fotentot still has alot of grit though..and don't you dare take that away from him.
  5. Sweet! After Fontenot comes the real meat of this lineup!
  6. Does anyone have the current BABIP stat on Dukes? We really need to move on this guy fast, just keep the young girls away from him. Both his power #'s are good, and his OBP which leads me to believe a low BABIP. This should increase and he could very well put up an 850+ OPS.
  7. Why not just DFA the JockStrap and bring up Rapada? Morons.
  8. I'd really like to see him on the big club this year.
  9. curses and throws laptop across the room
  10. I get the feeling that I don't like Ohman.
  11. If he can hit 16 more HR's in addition to his 3,000 hits he will be only the 2nd player in MLB history with 300HR's, 3,000 hits, & 300 SB's. The other is Mays. He should be a first ballot HOF.
  12. There should be only one "untouchable", Loul Deng.
  13. oh please get Duhon out of here. I always thought Pargo was a better backup PG myself.
  14. Nah. Gotta tip your cap to the pitcher. :D ahh, yes. I'm suprised the Cubs don't have blisters on their head, with all the friction of constantly taking off and putting back on, of their hats.
  15. coulda, woulda, shoulda. http://www.cantstopthebleeding.com/img/wieters.jpg
  16. shorten your stroke and focus on hitting the ball to the middle infield. If a player has the bags loaded and 0 outs and doesn't get that run home he should be fined 10K. There is no excuse for that crap, you are a major league ballplayer.
  17. I'm trying to picture in my mind, Rich Hill yelling at somone...LOL...he really doesn't strike me as an intimidating force
  18. To be fair, as I have stated in other threads, I don't think he was given the necessary resources by our buddy Andy.
  19. Well, that is the theme for the 2007 Cubs.
  20. Jones and Izturis add 0 value to any trade package. These are the only 2 trade options. Jim Hendry calls GM 1 Hey buddy, can you do me a solid, take this stiff Jones, I'll pay 75% of his contract, just give me some garbage prospect that nobody knows about so I can put out some spin on him. Jim Hendry calls GM 2 Allright, we will do the deal for Zambrano, but if you are only gonna give us 2 top prospects you have to take this bum Izturis and 100% of his salary.
  21. Colvin is a light hitting corner OF who can't take a walk.
  22. I'm not as high on Murton as others, but starting Jones over Murton vs a lefty is basically forfeiting a spot in the lineup. If anything at least Murton should see some more pitches from Washburn, while Jones will look like me in the fast pitch batting cage on a Saturday night.
  23. Aram went from a butcher defender to an above average defender that he is today. And even if he still was a butcher, I could careless, as long as he continues to produce offensively. There is no reason Vitters cannot stick at 3B unless the organization doesn't put forth the effort. The only way a position change should be considered if Vitters moves fast through the system and is MLB ready, and at the same time Aram is still productive with the Cubs.
  24. Also, I wouldn't get too attached to Guzman, because of the injury history. If there has been one player that I have really been impressed with, it is Marmol. I think he is gonna be a guy that you can bring in late in the game against good right handed hitters, and a guy that can absorb a high workload.
