  1. Is Teixeira even a good outfielder. I know he played like 20-30 games in LF and RF his whole career, but adding him would give us 2 gold glove first basemen. Would he be so inclined to move to RF after he's established himself as a dominant defensive 1B? Not that I think we'll get Tex in the first place :?
  2. *ahem*... it's Kool-Aid, buddy. Get your cheap sugary beverages straight, will ya? j/k
  3. Chris Young The Bad Ass will save them
  4. Didn't see it posted anywhere, if so, then feel free to lock. Talks about his dealing with his daughters disease. It's a nice article. Link
  5. Certainly not interested in those two. I would think Rios is the only player on their major league roster we might want. Do they have any interesting prospects? Adam Lind (South Alabama player, woot woot!)... but they got him for a good while so they probably won't let him go, plus he's their top prospect. But the whole idea of a fire sale is getting rid of all the top expensive talent and keeping the cheap prospects, so I doubt they let any of their young, cheap prospects go. I think Rios is the only interesting person available that we could use. Every other big name is on either a huge contract, injured, or play a position we aren't in dire need of. I'm sure if they do have a fire sale the only big names they'll keep are Wells (which they have no choice to do, he has a full NTC) and Halladay
  6. The Jack Cust Baseball Academy http://www.jackcustbaseball.com/images/JCBAlogo06.gif I'm not joking (maybe I kinda am). You may look at Cust's numbers and say "He could be off to a hot start, 7HR in 37AB could be a fluke. His .270 average is nothing to bark at." No, but his 12 walks in those 37AB and his .449OBP is. The dude has 12 walks in 37AB, Derrek Lee has 17BB in 141AB and that's the best on the team. Seriously, why are we so devout of having hitters who can't take a friggin' walk? I know the concept is silly, but I mean....... the Jack Cust Baseball Academy sounds like it could be useful to a lot of guys on this team [/kindofsortajoke]
  7. Because they brought him in to face Shawn Green, who was 2 for 22 against Scott Eyre, then they threw in David Wright after they brought him in, who is David Wright
  8. I hate this ball club, if you can call it that
  9. We're [expletive] up against the New York Mets B-TEAM!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE *@#$!$*@$#$*#%@(^)^$
  10. There were some girls in my high school who had some weird fan crush on Todd Wellemeyer. I have no idea why. One of the girls brothers was in the Reds farm system, so I have no clue why they would have some sort of crush on a dude who was in the Cubs farm system.
  11. Hey, if his right arm ever gives out at least he knows he's got his left one to train and fall back on
  12. This is the free Yahoo! league that just started this year. I'm "Neifi's B-Team" Link
  13. Not good for my fantasy team :(
  14. I made a trading block post on the forum for that site. I need speed, please check it, it appears no one uses it since my post was the first in over a month, so I'll give those a heads up here. Thanks
  15. He's Adam Dunn redux of the AL. Seems like a good contract
  16. Hall. Multi position eligibility, great power, plus he's been coming around lately so perhaps he'll get that average up to a steady .280 soon and keep the hits coming. Are you going to drop one or trade one?
  17. Even at SS, Jose Reyes and Jimmy Rollins have him trumped. He has a better shot at being named as the backup 2B than he does at being the backup SS. I agree that getting Lee the starting 1B gig over Pujols is more important that voting for Theriot who stands a snowballs chance in hell at making it. I'll gladly vote for him, and will vote for him, but he's got stiff competition at either position
  18. Shagging fly balls is probably the more appropriate terminology. A lot of pitchers do it. Some act like they enjoy shagging balls more than they like stepping onto the mound. Ahhhhh. Oh well, hate it for the guy. Shin injuries suck something fierce, too.
