  1. If Texas makes the NC, I am pulling for Bama or Penn State to run the table. I have no desire to play Florida. Easily the best 1-loss team in the country right now. I'd have to shoot myself if the title game was florida and texas. that being said, if osu can pull off tonights game, then TTU, UT, UF, Bama and UGA are probably the only teams in the country who control their own destiny in respect to getting to the title game.
  2. Yards Per Offensive Play 6.9 Penn State 6.8 Oklahoma 6.8 Texas 6.6 Florida 6.6 Georgia And UF, UGA, PSU and other teams as good on offense have played better defenses - yet still move the ball as well. Throw in UF's fabulous return game and they're probably the best offense in the nation again. It is either them or USC.
  3. and to elaborate florida's offense has performed every bit as well as OU's and UTs without even adjusting for defenses played (ditto for PSU too)
  4. im not really saying that those defenses are that good, im just saying that they've played good defenses this year.
  5. Yeah but if Penn St wins, and they finish without a loss, they probably make it to the NC game. And they probably get blown out as well. I'd love to see Texas or Florida go up against an actual defense this year Texas no...Florida has. By the end of the season they would have played: #4 Defense #7 Defense #8 Defense #9 Defense #15 Defense #16 Defense #22 Defense And none of those are LSU. were those the #'s at the time, or now? now. well going into this week.

I ranked by yards per play. I'll do some mathematical analysis mapping on it tonight though.
  7. I think Texas' offense would struggle against Penn State.

  9. In all honesty, mediocre might be a complement for this Tennessee team. hey at least they play better defense than every team in the big xii.
  10. Actually with the week to week turnover in the bottom ten of the top 25, 22 is probably mediocre this year. It seems as if every week we have four or five Big East/Big Ten/ACC teams getting in the 17-25 range and then getting knocked off the next week by teams who are then ranked in the 17-25 range...who get knocked off the next week - rinse wash repeat.
  11. It isn't as bad as it was last year. The middle teams have improved. It's not in the class of the Big XII or SEC, but the difference is no longer night and day. The big problem with their schedules is the lack of a big championship game. Although you can't make that argument about Ohio State since they "played" USC. if the Big 10 could get a 12th team, they would probably move to a championship game. But that brings me to my beef with the complete and utter lack of consistency from conference to conference. With the current system it's in the Big Ten's advantage not to play a title game.

  13. Five Things We've Learned This Week (Thus Far) 1. About the Big XII: Oklahoma is not a top five team. Kansas has no business being in the top 25. We still don't know anything about TTU. Okie State is the best school in Ok. 2. About the Big Ten: It's Penn State, Ohio State and a bunch of mediocrity. 3. About the ACC: The best two teams are coached by Butch and Bobby. It's FSU and the U again - of North Car. Wide L or R? 4. About the SEC: It's Florida, Georgia and Alabama to go with a bunch of mediocrity. 5. About the Rest of College Football: It's USC and a bunch of mediocrity.
  14. If I photoshopped the Longhorns uniforms to be red and black, would you notice a difference between the UT offense and the TTU offense? Over under 5 million passing yards next week. Ought to be fun. Re LSU. We're learning more about them every week. I'm not ignorant. Anyways, next weeks' UGA UF game should be an elimination game for the SEC Title, and pot'l SEC berth in the NC. Unfortunately, it looks as if it'll be the third year in a row where a Big Ten team will have to win one big game and get in the title game thinks to weak scheduling.* *The argument here really isn't that the Big Ten is weak. It's that conferences with championship games basically get a big game there no matter what. It's extremely hard on those teams. If the Big Ten (or Pac 10) had a title game, the schedule argument between the Big XII/SEC and those two conferences would go away. We'd see two Ohio State/Penn State matchups or something. It would (almost) guarantee the conference winner to have at least two big wins each season, just like SEC/Big XII schools have to have. And lol at Big XII defense.
  15. Total Yards in Big XII Games: 1,491 Oklahoma at Kansas State 1,058 Texas Tech at Kansas 975 Baylor at Nebraska In Progress: 672 Oklahoma State at Texas (Halftime) Video Game Conference
  16. brantley goes deep, 63-3.
  17. And Tebows done before the end of the third quarter. Brantley in. 56-3 Gators. Tebow only had to complete 11 passes for 181 yards.
  18. We are not very consistant this year. One week we look awesome. The next we blow. Two Words: Ronald Zook a year ago all of the illini fans here said the zooker was a great coach. i said no. you bitched and moaned. good job.
  19. the KSU/OU half game.... 768 Yards of Total Offense 83 total points 1120 total yards.
  20. illinois is a bad team too then...
  21. theyre at over 1000 total yards...
  22. and now itll be 55 - 28 OU.
  23. i have no idea how we scored the last TD. kstate had the ball, i went to get my running shoes for a halftime jog and i get back and we're in the end zone. i was literally out of the room for maybe 1:30 freeman threw it right at one of your defenders.
