  1. so we're going to let a 27 year old pitcher who has a career ERA of 6.00 who has thrown 40 MLB innings the last two seasons stop us from getting jake peavy?
  2. im pretty sure the fact that OU won't get three possessions in each quarter isn't really saying that ou sucks. it's just saying that the pace of the game is going to be a lot slower than your typical big xii game. in fact, florida had just three games where they had more than eleven possessions the entire game. oklahoma had just two games where they had eleven or fewer possessions the entire game and five games where they had fifteen or more possessions the entire game. basically, the reason OU's offense scored more points was that they got the ball nearly about 20% more than the gators. Oklahoma ran 1036 plays this season, gaining 7.1 yards per play. Florida ran 800 plays this season, gaining 7.2 yards per play. I am going to ignore possessions at the end of halves that were just running the clock out...because well you're just running off excess water there. Florida had 142 possessions this season, in 13 games. Oklahoma had 175 possessions, in 13 games. Florida had games of 7, 9 and 9.
  3. Hahaha latest rumors have the Devil Rays interested in reaquiring Young.
  4. I can promise you that you won't even get three possessions in each quarter. You'll be lucky to get 12 possessions all game. This isn't the Big XII.
  5. It's more likely that OU doesn't score three touchdowns all game than it is that OU goes up by three touchdowns at any point.
  6. yeah if you decide to just pass rush the heck out of tebow, im pretty sure demps, rainey and harvin will combine for about 300 yards rushing. Does Obama’s win make OU Gatorbait? Could Barack Obama’s election as president be good news for the Florida Gators? ObamaSince 1984, seven presidential elections have been held. In the previous six election years, each time a Democrat won, an SEC team claimed college football's national championship. The four times a Republican won, non-SEC teams earned the title. The last time this trend didn’t hold? In 1980, the year Ronald Reagan was first elected to serve as president, Georgia was the national champion. Year: President elect – National Champ 2008: Barack Obama (Dem) -- ?? 2004: George W. Bush (Rep) -- USC 2000: George W. Bush (Rep) -- Oklahoma 1996: Bill Clinton (Dem) -- Florida 1992: Bill Clinton (Dem) -- Alabama 1988: George H.W. Bush (Rep) -- Notre Dame 1984: Ronald Reagan (Rep) -- BYU 1980: Ronald Reagan (Rep) -- Georgia
  7. Cubs sources stress nothing is imminent. Towers has said that we are a little reluctant at the price tag but he is still optimistic that we eventually will agree on something. Bruce says that the GM's were all in a mandatory conference this morning for awhile so while all of these reports were coming out, the GM's weren't actually talking trades. Don't know if you've seen that the Cubs have talked with Bradley and that he appears to be at the top of our list. That's about it, go to MLBTR if you want to find all of the links for today. Edit: some Phillies sources say that the Orioles aren't likely to be involved, but other reports say that they are still in the 4-way. Thank you.
  8. Which is why I need cliffnotes and updates. There's a lot of hidden posts. Then why are people screaming and harping and gushing over Peavy, when by all accounts, talks at the best, marginally took a step backward today.
  9. So let's talk about potential possibilities regarding the national title game. I see only a couple potential outcomes: 1. We realize that the Big XII doesn't play defense, and the pure spread fails in the SEC, Florida wins 41-14. 2. We realize that the SEC doesn't play offense, and Oklahoma can put points up on Florida, Florida or Oklahoma win 45-42 or something. 3. Bradford takes the post-heisman dump, Florida wins 65-14.
  10. cilffnotes update plz. preferably by someone i dont have blocked
  11. I picked a random ACC team. Wake Forest. The probability of x losses if certain teams faced their schedule. Oklahoma 0 34.84% 1 40.02% 2 19.18% 3+ 5.96% Texas 0 23.56% 1 38.55% 2 25.38% 3+ 12.51% Florida 0 44.84% 1 38.30% 2 13.93% 3+ 2.93% USC 0 42.16% 1 38.99% 2 15.28% 3+ 3.57% Texas Tech 0 5.61% 1 21.99% 2 28.18% 3+ 44.22% Penn State 0 22.05% 1 37.99% 2 26.16% 3+ 13.79% Alabama 0 7.47% 1 25.26% 2 29.42% 3+ 37.86% Ohio State 0 4.68% 1 20.08% 2 27.17% 3+ 48.07%
  12. sure it does. it means the average quality of play in the league is higher than the average quality of play in other leagues. im pretty sure im not the only one with my point of view. Sagarin: 1. Atlantic Coast 2. Big 12 3. Southeastern 4. Big East 5. Big Ten 6. Pac 10 7. Mountain West Colley: 1. Big 12 2. Atlantic Coast 3. Southeastern 4. Big East 5. Big Ten 6. Mountain West 7. Pac 10 Anderson & Hester: 1. ACC 2. Big 12 3. Big East 4. SEC 5. Big Ten 6. Pac 10 7. MWC Massey 1. ACC 2. Big 12 3. SEC 4. Big East 5. MWC 6. Big Ten 7. Pac 10 Wolfe: 1. Big 12 2. Big East 3. ACC 4. SEC 5. Big Ten 6. MWC 7. Pac 10 Bill Trocchi, Sports Illustrated 1. Big 12 2. ACC 3. SEC 4. Big Ten 5. MWC 6. Pac 10 I dont care for looking up more. My point is done.
  13. well im not sure peavy's better than harden when harden decides to not prior
  14. USF has dropped four of their last five and five of their last seven - with one of the wins over Syracuse
  15. You don't like Mizzou's chances aganst N'Western? That ought to be a blow out.
  16. its possible, anto hit just as bad in aaa as well
  17. and vitters, derosa, marshall and cedeno is quite a bit to give up for him We could pull a spare prospect from the Phils to help it out a bit. Heitor Correa, maybe? cole hamels would be a good fit me thinks
  18. ship marquis and that 5.5 mil to colorado for street and see if we can call tradeback on gregg
  19. would have been nice to not trade for gregg and flip cash + marquis for street
  20. and vitters, derosa, marshall and cedeno is quite a bit to give up for him
  21. but mark oneal will break him right after so it wont work that way
  22. isnt levinson ibanez's agent? can you confirm that they talked more about bradley than ibanez? because ibanez sucks
  23. this wont work. hoffpauir is in rf johnson cf, soriano lf, fukudome ss, cajuns 2b. we didnt sign milton bradley. we signed the parker brothers instead I say we slash the payroll, and put it all into research for a futuristic cloning machine, and then have the team be 23 Sotos, Z, and Harden. we better clone a lot more hardens so when one breaks we have another
  24. I said it may. I know that's what we've been doing. If the Padres are high on Vitters though, one would think that it could be the other way around.
  25. if the phils flip a pitcher, i would think it may mean no marshall.
