  4. Meph would be why. OU let Tim Tebow gain 100 yards rushing. Bradford had 257 yards passing. 257. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/SportsKnowledge/thoklahoma20jim20ross20ow.gif
  5. And the jump pass wins the game. Or so it should.
  6. Shovel Option! That play has almost won this game.
  7. Florida's passing game has become more and more vertical as the game has progressed.
  8. I believe that was Sunshine's first catch. And David Nelson's first as well.
  9. Man, I love that shovel option. More teams should implement that. They've used it as a QUADRUPLE option a few times. That one was a triple.
  10. he got sacked once out of it earlier.
  11. i like it. it's not an audible, the formation is called in the huddle, the plays are called from the sidelines. it works. can some people call it cheap? yes. i don't think so. personally, OU has been most effective today when they've gone quick with the tempo. When they play normal they're getting consistently beat by the UF defense. When they quicken the pace they're winning consistently. I'm confused as to why theyre not doing it.
  12. That was one hell of a pick.
  13. that son of a bitch twisted his knee
  14. He's thrown two bad passes out of 17. Just two. One was a bad read (the one to McCoy) the other was on a blown route. Cooper was supposed to run a 10 yard in on the one that Harris jumped. He hasn't played well, but outside of those two passes he's done alright. Florida's throwing a lot more bubbles than they have most of the time and fewer play action passes with go routes than normal. If Tebow is this bad, then he wouldn't have had just two picks all season long while playing superior defenses.
  15. Well penalties and turnovers have stopped them, not OU's defense. Then again, the same case can be made for Florida's versus OU.
  16. First half thoughts. 1. The defenses have come to play. Strong and Stoops/Venables are outstanding defensive coaches and giving them a month to prepare for the other offenses has done wonders. 2. Florida's cover corners, Haden, Pierre-Louis and Jenkins have done a very good job covering OU's wideouts. 3. Gresham is giving the Gators. They've elected to use a LB and not Hill on him for much of the first half, but that hasn't works. 4. Florida's able to get pressure on Bradford when he drops back, but he's doing quick drops for most of the time. 5. Despite the defenses "winning". OU's come gotten inside the 10 yard line twice without scoring. Florida's punt once and two picks, one on a bad read and another on a blown route. 6. One thing to remember is that Florida's gotten one less possession. So they are going to have fewer yards, obviously. Thus far, Florida's offense has been more effective moving the ball, though Oklahoma's has been unstoppable the last three possessions. We'll see a lot more points in the second half.
  17. they got to him early in the game, since then theyve gone to three step drops and throw.
  18. and there goes his ACL and MCL and probably his PCL on an illegal tackle.
  19. Yes. Leak and Tebow were in a QB rotation that year. Leak threw the ball and Tebow ran on short yardage plays. and tebow threw one jump pass in 2007. and one in 2008. i believe only one in 2006.
  20. Everyone likes to do these, so so will I. Five Reasons Oklahoma Will Win 1. The offense is too good and Florida's "great" defense was created by a dearth of passing offense in the SEC. 2. Florida's defense probably is, at best, as good as Texas Chrisitians, and the Sooners still jumped all over the Horned Frogs early. 3. Tim Tebow is 1-6 when trailing in the fourth quarter. 1 and 6. 4. The last time that Florida faced an effective spread offense Urban Meyer wasn't at Florida. Or Utah. He was at Bowling Green. The Big XII and Texas High Schools have perfected the spread. 5. Oklahoma is pissed and tired of hearing about Tim Tebow's heart. They'll take him out. He'll be hurt by halftime. Five Reasons Florida Will Win 1. The offense is nothing like Oklahoma has seen. They haven't seen an offense this fast, this athletic, nor a spread running offense. Ever. 2. Oklahoma will try to force Tim Tebow to throw. Tim Tebow was second in the nation in passing efficiency last season and third in the nation in passing efficiency this year. Something tells me that's not a very good game plan. 3. Oklahoma has not faced a defense with this much speed or athleticism since the last time they were in a championship game. That didn't turn out too well. Florida hasn't faced a defense this bad in quite awhile either. They carved up top ten defenses with regularity this season. 4. Tim Tebow. The left arm of god is going to will the Gators to victory. 5. Sam Bradford won the heisman. What happened the last time Florida played a heisman trophy winner for the National Title? Personally, this is going to be a good game. I think you'll see Oklahoma jump out to a sizable lead early in the game, say 14-7 or maybe 14-0 as Florida adjusts to the tempo. Once Florida has adjusted I think their athleticism will be able to stop the Oklahoma offense later in the game, much like Texas Christian and Texas did. Oklahoma scored 21 points in the second half of those games. Combined. And those were the two best defenses they faced all season and Florida's is probably more talented. I think Oklahoma will have success stopping the rushing attack of Harvin, Demps, Rainey and Tebow early in the game, but Tebow will just sit back and pass like he did last season for much of the evening. Then in the second half a rested Emmanuel Moody should be able to hit the beleaguered Sooner defense for some big runs. After 1 Quarter. Oklahoma 14-7 At Half Time. Oklahoma 21-17 After 3 Quarters Florida 31-28 At the End: Florida 38-35 This game is going to be a close one. You can go either way. I'd say Florida wins around 53% of the time. It's a great matchup. Should be an outstanding game.
  21. Well, relatively speaking, the SEC has increased quite a bit since the bowls started, playing much better than anticipated. The Big XII on the other hand has decreased a bit since the bowls started, playing much worse than anticipated. Prior to the bowls, my system had Oklahoma with a 0.59 point edge on the Gators. After entering the bowl data Florida has a 1.05 point edge on the Sooners. A 1.64 point swing between two teams who didn't even play is an astronomic jump this late in the season.
