  1. because it was the most developed sports game, professionally, when worker productivity went through the roof in the late 1800s/early 1900s
  2. 140+ Ks a season 35 HRs a season only 30 RBI in 72 games. No. End of thread.
  3. forget about theriot, it's time for fontenot to shine.
  4. rich hill is a quadruple a pitcher. two pitches and nothing else.
  5. OF COURSE THE CUBS HAVE A CHANCE, The season is half over. Duh guys.
  6. Looking strikeouts won't teach [Cherry] Pie anything.
  7. Do both Hill and Bowen qualify as such? Well, not really but they're still better than Barrett.
  8. CERA is a very important concept. It is a way to show who is better at calling pitches. The pitchers are the same, so obviously there is a difference. Defense behind the dish is vital to a team's success. 2001 - Miller 2002 - Molina 2003 - Rodriguez 2004 - Varitek 2005 - Pierzynski 2006 - Another Molina 4 of the last 6 seasons a defensive standout catcher's team has won the WS. That's a nice tradition the Cubs don't have.
  9. it depends on when the cash would change hands. For instance if the Cubs picked up all of it this season and none of it next season, the deal doesnt make sense for him.
  10. Let's go Huseby. He's what? 24 months or so removed from TJ? The kid gloves should be coming off soon.
  11. its way too early to see how the HS class shakes out. Granted, last years class was labeled as golden for years. the college class looks to be really top heavy. the depth is probably better than last years. its still not a great class.
  12. I think this is the correct coloring. Why did I change my name? Because I can. Besides, I know pretty much everyone who reads my posts will look up Asmodai to find out what the hell it means. It's similar to Mephistopheles. 1. Meph 84-32-4 .717 - 10-0-0 12 90 2. Minneaps Ballers 71-45-4 .608 13 10-0-0 7 8 3. St. Lunatics 68-42-10 .608 13 7-3-0 11 7 4. 13. there's nothing worse than whoring out stats from college baseball. Correct. He had a school commitment. Nice to see he is from inner-LA with a good head. Is he from inner-LA? He goes to high school in Rancho Cucamonga, I thought he was from that area. meh my california geography blows.
  14. There's no reason in hell the Cubs should draft Alonso. Correct. He had a school commitment. Nice to see he is from inner-LA with a good head.

  18. nothing wrong with this. biggio's done a lot for the community.
  19. Actually we can expand the Cust sample size to about 3k PAs in AAA. I'll shove them down your throat if you want me to. They do matter.
  20. hilarious. if that was a slump, then there's a chance Jacque breaks out of it any day. Cust goes 7/52, 2 2B, 8/24 bb/k ratio for a month and noone talks about him. he lights up the NLs worst pitching staff, then gets a couple dingers over the following week, and he's back to hero status. He went through a slump, and did fine. You can cut up the best offensive season of the last fifty years (quite possibly ever) and find a stretch of 50 PAs where he hit .162. Looking for streaks in a gamelog is a dangerous thing.
  21. And therein lies the problem for them winning the west. And therein lies the reason they won it last year. The McFadden/Felix Jones running back duo is great, but I don't like the fact that Arkansas doesn't have a passing game at all. Marcus Monk and Robert Johnson are good at receiver, but Casey Dick doesn't need to be a starting QB at a major university. That's going to cost them, in my opinion. I do think Arkansas will be good, don't get me wrong. I just think LSU is going to be really good - if Matt Flynn performs. Despite losing McFadden dropped 180 yards on them last year. I do think LSU is better, but I also refuse to count out the Backs.
  22. If that is so wtf took them so long to make this move? Bush had a pure 80/Furcal arm in HS and routinely sat at 94 touching high 90s off the mound.
