    thats simply not true. an aging barrett is a much better player than bowen. bowens defense isnt any better than mbs. in fact in his career bowen has thrown out 5 of 50!

    I am. Good. The Cubs are worse today. Barrett to Bowen is a big drop off. The Cubs are worse tomorrow. Two picks in the top 75 picks next year > Burke. It's not a hard thing to see. Barrett to Bowen, I agree. I'd rather see Soto over Barrett, Bowen, Hill, and Blanco. I'm not sure they'll call him up which they should but that's a separate issue. I don't see a team signing him before 12/1 and the Cubs likely would not offer arbitration given how this season has progressed so far. Even taking the two draft picks out of the discussion, a prospect who can't hit .230 in low A isn't worth the drop from Barrett to a catcher with a minor league BA of .238. I know it's BA, but this guy isn't Gene Tenace.

    or if people who knew the rules about attacking/insulting other posters actually followed said rules to be technically correct, I don't attack or insult the other person. I insult the argument. There's a critical difference. "You're [expletive]" =/= "That's a [expletive] statement." I make [expletive] statements, we all do.

    From a saber POV there's not much use to WPA. For in game finite managing it's fairly useful. Basically it's just saying if all the teams are average given this situation team X will win this percentage of time. Because it uses all the data its making the average team assumption. Of course this is completely worthless. When you have say 34% chance to win with a runner on second in the 8th with Bonds up. The system says not to walk him. Bonds =/= average. Of course this can all be adjusted for in the computer, and they've done it.

    I wouldn't doubt that. It would be even easier if people's feelings weren't as fragile as Mark Prior.

    Should they care? They don't need to take it personally. You can call me whatever the heck you want to. You can call me [expletive], stupid, arrogant and just a terrible person and I won't care because at the end of the day you only know me through a few posts which don't say much about me the person. It's the Internet, get over it. I could care less about winning this round. I have no shot to win it all. As you've guys said people don't like me, and I don't care. If I had to choose, I would say a knowledgeable ass. See, you do like what I present. How it's presented shouldn't matter. Perhaps it's a test?

    hilarious for people who actually know how it's formulated. These guys can't be more ignorant. I can hope they expand the service to MLB games with run expectancy and run frequency as well.

    It's more fun to do it in a demeaning way. Let's face facts, 90% of the discussion threads on NSBB are repeats. They're the same discussions as the previous week with the names changed. Presenting the same argument over and over gets boring.
