  1. I think Oklahoma and Georgia will both win big. I think LSU and USC will win closer than people think. That all depends on how good you think the Big 10 is. Not terribly. But I see no evidence that LSU is going to blow out anyone decent, other than the Va Tech game which was forever ago. Especially considering OSU won't want to be embarrassed after last year. Oh, OSU travels like crazy -- it won't be near the home game for LSU people think. As for USC-Illinois, I'd be stunned if Illinois wins but with their running game I think 21 is a bit much. However, I'm going on your 14- and 21-point spreads which likely won't be the case, so maybe both will be as big as "the people" nebulously believe. This has nothing to do with the post, but am I the only one who finds it hilarious that two weeks (sets of games) in a row the number one team in the country is going to be widely considered the underdog? That is going to be odd/funny. What's even funnier is that I really don't think anyone can rightfully complain. Oklahoma should've been favored over Mizzou and LSU should be favored over Ohio State. Yeah and this shoes the complete absurdity of polls.
  2. Well the rules made Illinois irrelevant. The choice pretty much had to come down to Arizona State or Illinois and Missouri or Kansas.

  4. Hahahaha UM (+32) PLEASE Florida very well may end up being a 3 touchdown favorite
  5. the all big 12 fiesta is so lame
  6. I don't think either UF or Michigan puts up that many points, but for the most part, yeah, those are pretty reasonable projections #1 Michigan can't stop spread offenses. #2 Florida's defense isn't great and Michigan will get plenty of opportunities against them -- because the Florida offense will score so quickly.
  7. so USC vs Illinois - 41-17 USC? so LSU vs OSU - 34-21 LSU? so UF vs Michigan - 56-24 UF?
  8. The Angels offered Kendrick, Mathis, Santana or Adenhart and a mid level prospect. The Marlins came back and asked for all that, but with Adenhart and Santana. In other words, the Marlins are run by idiots and the Cubs could never make a deal remotely similar to the deal the Angels offered, much less a better one.
  9. Jason Bay is right-handed. I guess that means he's not desired for our outfield. *sigh*
  10. Sagarin's BCS Poll 1. Virginia Tech 2. Louisiana State 3. Okahoma 4. Ohio State 5. Kansas 6. Missouri 7. Georgia 8. Hawaii 9. Southern California 10. Boston College Saragin's Real Rankings 1. Oklahoma 2. Florida 3. Ohio State 4. West Virginia 5. Oregon 6. Kansas 7. Southern California 8. Louisiana State 9. South Florida --- Lol Illini fans 10. Missouri VT is #11.
  11. It's nice to know that an SEC team will likely kick OSU's butt two years in a row. Beautiful outcome, I think.
  12. Hey look at this, another week and the Meph statements, as usual, were pretty much dead on.
  13. Illinois will be getting a BCS game undeservedly, of course. nonetheless it's not a done deal yet. Keep up the hate, its great comedy. The Illini will be in the top 14 now, and I doubt they get passed over for an at large. Not going to matter because when OU beats Mizzou tonight, the Illini will be playing in the Rose, while Ohio State plays for the NC. top 14 doesn't matter, and they WOULD be an at-large. What do you mean top 14 doesnt matter? You have to be in the top 14 to get in a BCS game, and I said I doubt they would get passed over for an at large. Not really sure why you have WOULD like that. 14 teams for 10 slots. and you're making it sound like they aren't an at-large. why wouldn't your at-large get passed for another (say, Georgia or Tennesse or Hawaii or Missouri or Oklahoma or Kansas or.....) How am I making it sound like they arent an at large when I put right in my post I doubt they would get passed over for an at large? The question is why you doubt it. Illinois doesn't have that big of a draw nationally. They aren't a lock to bring a ton of fans, and they have a questionable resume. Sure, the Rose Bowl will definitely take them if they are there, but why would any other bowl pick Illinois over Arizona State? Because Illinois is a good storyline, and they have a history of drawing well in bowl games just look at 2001 Sugar Bowl. USF is a good storyline too. (And better might i add) No they arent, and USF wont draw anywhere near the fans U of I would. they certainly are a better team.
  14. Who had the most hits against the Cubs in 2007 from the NL Central? David Eckstein Most HR? Adam Dunn Most walks? Jason Bay Most K's (as a hitter) Adam Dunn

  17. Do you really want Tennessee to win? Are you that scared of Florida kicking Illinois' ass?
  18. Even Meph will think we'd win that one. sagarin has illinois #21 and ucla #22. im jes saying...
  19. unfortunately, a lot of other teams ran by florida's secondary too not quite. they didn't get outran. they just can't cover guys. there's a difference.
  20. jersey cubs fan makes me laugh. man "brief" stretches last 3 and a half years now? Man. Tough crowd.
  21. Florida's wide receivers ran by everybody's secondary. Georgia's, Auburn's and LSU's included.
  22. He'll be relatively cheap and if healthy he'd be better than Dempster and Marquis. It wouldn't be the dumbest thing you could do. It has the coveted Meph Move Stamp of Approval.
  23. Why not do something like a one year deal + a club option that turns into a mutual option if he reaches certain performance based incentives. If he's still recovering the Cubs still control him. If he breaks out he can then go make a killing on the market. It's a win-win for both, I think
  24. I remember the Cintron - Jeter comparisons way back when. Pathetic defensive SS who could hit for gap power with a high BA.
