Under the assumption that this deal goes through, murton is traded and roberts or dero cant play SS and fukudome is signed...the cubs ought to go with this: 1. Brian Roberts, CF (2B) 2. Kosuke Fukudome, RF (CF) 3. Derrek Lee, 1B 4. Aramis Ramirez, 3B 5. Alfonso Soriano, LF 6. Mark DeRosa, 2B (RF) 7. Geovany Soto, C 8. Ryan Theriot, SS With Pie getting time in CF against tough righties and DeRosa getting benched. If you dislike the idea of moving Roberts to CF, move Fukudome there when Pie craps out, as expected.

Honestly this deal seems the most likely to me: Carlos Marmol, Sean Marshall and choice of {Gallagher, Patterson, and a few others}

So if Roberts is traded to the Cubs it might not happen for a long time or it might happen quickly, and it might include some of those players. Way to go out on a limb, ESPN! What did you expect, it is Amy Nelson after all.

Really? Rotoworld needs to get their crap together. Even so why not? He'd be 24 at the end and will be in AA/AAA. He's still got upside, albeit not as much as he did a few years ago.

He played all of 2007 at age 22. He had a solid season this year. He'd be worth picking up. He does not need to be on the 40 man.

Mauer is too much of an injury risk for us in that deal. They had better compensate us with the oft-injured francisco liriano as well.
