  1. hu?He wants Rich Hill on the MLB team and not sent down every time he stinks it up.
  2. it's not hitting the white sox should be concerned with... Yeah, plus where would they put him??
  3. Unless that team was the Cardinals or the White Sox, why would you care what he does for that team if the deal helps us?? Howry, Eyre, and Dempster should only be traded if we get an offer we can't refuse. Pierre, we need to cut our losses and trade him. His stock is high. Blanco, I'd like to keep, he's a good back-up to have.
  4. Well if Prior throws arond 90 pitches in game 2, he doesn't run out of gas at the end of game 6, which is what happened to him. So you're going to seriously tell me that one game of being overworked ruined Prior - even though he had 5 DAYS OFF rather than his normal four - and not a whole season of being overworked? That's ludicrous. I'm not saying that, but he should've saved him when he could have. I think it was lost there b/c those are 30-40 good pitches we could have had for game 6.
  5. Great!! Another arm ruined. Hey, job opening!!! If you want your arm ruined, come to the Chicago Cubs and Dusty Baker where they'll play you to ruin your arm!!
  6. The White Sox have finished under .500 exactly zero times in a year beginning with "200". The Tigers haven't even remotely contended in quite some time. Not to say that the fairweather attendance isn't annoying, but there are some degrees to look at there. Also the Sox fans started showing up in what, september? The tigers fans started showing up in May. One was waiting for something to cheer for, the other was waiting for a winner to cheer for. actually, I believe walk-up tickets were available to the division series games with the RedSox. they didn't have an advanced sell out until the ALCS...unless of course you include drunk Tuesdays or whatever they called it. I also don't think anyone rooted against the White Sox solely because of their attendance. the fairweatherness of their fans added to the contempt for their fans, not the contempt for the ballclub. but I suppose I do see the relation because my contempt for the White Sox is solely completely attributable to their fairweather, obnoxious fans. for instance, stop crying about Cub fans backing the Tigers, Twins and Indians when it's an indisputedable fact that many Sox fans have been huge Astro and Cardinal fans over the years. And Marlins and Braves fans when the Cubs made the playoffs.
  7. Well if one HBP results in injury and losing the player for an extended time, while the other doesn't, that's not fair. I'm just talking about your general beaning in the back. Don't throw at the head. Just throw it at the middle of their back - a spot that rarely results in a serious injury. If the player sticks his elbow in the way or doesn't turn, that's his fault. I don't care.

  9. When they made this team, it was supposed to be a team that killed everyone w/ the 2005 pitching to go along w/ the offenses from 2000-04. Every day it looks more and more like the 2000-04 teams w/ a high-powered offense
  10. Not only are the whitesox 6.5 out, but the Twins are now 3 behind the whitesox. with a chance to overtake them in a series this week. the AL wildcard race will be very interesting. can't believe that one of Toronto, NY, Minny, Boston, Detroit, Sox hasn't made any moves yet. The Twins are going to be the sleeper in the Soriano sweepstakes and get him. Yeah even though the Twins have a pretty cheap owner, I don't see that happening. He's going to the Angels IMO. I made a thread in the transactions forum about it. Debate it there
  11. Not only are the whitesox 6.5 out, but the Twins are now 3 behind the whitesox. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!! Let's go Twins as well!!! We should change the title to the "Offical Go White Sox enemies thread"

  14. Any chance the Twins get him?? I was watching Baseball Tonight on ESPN last night, and they were saying that the Twins are going to be the sleeper in the Alfonso Soriano sweepstakes and w/ the outfield injuries are going to be looking at him. If they get Soriano, and the Sox stand pat, that could get them over the top and into the Wild Card. He has hit so many home runs at RFK this year, it's insane to think what his numbers would be in a smaller ballpark like the Metrodome. What are your thoughts on this??
  15. Could Dempster and Williamson get us el horso??
  16. I disagree about Prior.. I think he will be back next year.. and be able to contribute in a big way          That's what they say every year. And he's always hurt. When planning the team over the winter, don't count on him to be healthy. If he is, great. But plan on him not being healthy and have too many quality guys instead of too few guys.
  17. Dude if you would have been here in 03 you would have thought oh its ok Mark has perfect mechanics, he won't hurt his arm from overuse. Dude, I am a life long Cubs fan... who is 18 years old.. I was here in '03... and I blame that colapse on Alex Gonzolaz, who is retired by the way, and Busty Baker.Dusty ruined Wood and Prior by using them heavily in 2003. They were 1-2 in pitches thrown that year, and Prior was like 240 behind Wood, despite missing 3 starts. And why the hell did he let Prior throw 120 pitches with a 10-run lead in game 2 of the NLCS??
  18. The Cubs should not count on Wood to be healthy in any capacity. Anything he gives us should be considered gravy. Same for Prior. I agree on shutting down Lee. The season is over. Plus, you can play Walker and Nevin and let them improve their stock for July 31 or even a waiver-wire deal.
  19. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!! 6.5 GAMES UP!!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!
  20. That's ridiculous. If Padilla hits anybody he will be ejected and that will probably be the end of that. Unless of course there's a brawl or something in which case it would be wildly amusing to see someone punch Buehrle in the face. Ozzie said himself: If Padilla doesn't do anything then he isn't going to do anything. I dont' get what the big deal is. The fact that he said if Padilla hits a batter, he will deliberatly hit a Texas batter. Seriously, what do you not understand? If Padilla hits a White Sox batter intentionally, for the third time this year mind you, the White Sox will retaliate. This is called stating the obvious. If a pitcher repeatedly beans the same team, any manager in all of baseball would retaliate. The fact that Ozzie is throwing this out there. You're going to retaliate, fine. But don't announce it to the whole world. Geez. You'd think after the Mariotti episode, he'd shut up. This is absolutely ridiculous. You would laud any other manager that stuck up for his players like that. Ozzie says some awful, over the top things, but he's just stating fact. In your opinion, who's wrong here, Padilla or Ozzie? Both. Ozzie wants to retailiate, fine. But don't go around telling everyone. You're just adding fuel to the fire. Maybe Buck will be motivated by the comments and Padilla will hit someone just to challenge Ozzie. Now Ozzie can't win, say Padilla hits someone.
  21. The Rangers use a scoreboard to steal signs. Oh wait, the game is at the Cell. Guess Buerhle was wrong. He's a village idiot. I think I know the excuse. It's going to be something to do w/ Wendelstet being the home-plate umpire.

  24. I think the series was lost in game 2 of the NLCS by letting Prior throw 120 pitches w/ a 10-run lead. Dam it, Dusty.
  25. Another thing MLB needs to do: If Ozzie actually does execute his threat, not only does he need to be suspended, but should the guy he orders to be drilled be lost for an extended time, MLB needs to find some way of making the Sox pay, oh, maybe suspend Jim Thome until the injured guy comes back (not that it's Jim's fault, but it'd only be fair to make up for taking out a hitter)
