    That's bad. Who cares what the color of their skin is. If they are good, I want them on my team. If I suck, I will call for their heads, as I did for Jones when he did suck. If it was a white player who had sucked likes Jones did in April w/ his contract, I would call for his head.

I mean Liriano spent about what 4-6 weeks in the pen before joining the rotation, why don't they put McCarthy in?? Even if he struggles, you're better off w/ a young guy getting an ass-whuppon than some unproductive veteren getting the ass-whuppon.

    I don't blame Aramis for wanting to. Adrian Beltre has a 5 yea 64M deal, Ramirez has better numbers than him, I would do it. Yes, I know Beltre chased in on a monster season, but even w/ that, Ramirez has had better #'s than Beltre.

    There are not any other "kids" who are ready for the Bigs yet.... Williams as sucked at AAA Guzman has not been doing too well. and the Ryu guy has sucked too as far as i know. Who else is there that we saw in Sping Training???? no one. and theres not anyone who we didnt see in Spring Training that is blowing the minor leagues away.. so therefore there are no other kids to call up.dvdd127: If we are to get an ass-whuppon, would you rather have us get that whuppon w/ some unproductive veteren, or with some unproven kid?? I'll take the kid over the veteren in a season like this.

He sounds like a White Sox homer. What writers are you thinking of? Phil Rogers. Paul Sullivan. Mike Kiley. Rozner. etc. All morons. I can only think of two that I respect... Bruce Miles and Rob Neyer. There ya go. You just named 2. Couch and Telander are 2 others that I can respect

    I see nothing wrong w/ the nickname "Big Papi" His nickname is Papi, and he's big, so Big Papi is perfectly fine. Same w/ Zambrano. His nickname is Z, and he's big. Big Z makes sense

    The Cubs plan is to make deals for the sake of making deals. Did it last year w/ Dubouis, doing it this year w/ Walker. Also, be prepared to lose Big Z for a long time on April 19, 2007.

    He should've asked if he could break Furcal's wrist as well. And isn't it tampering to say Ramirez will be back b/c he is technically not under contract for 2007 just yet, b/c he can still use that escape clause

    Not really anything one can do about it. A few years ago Sidney Ponson was traded from the Orioles to the Giants because he would be an FA at the end of the season. Everone knew he'd re-sign with the Orioles the next winter - and he did. That may be, but Fat Boy Ponson did not have a deal lined up. He simply decided he'd come back over the winter. Having your mind set on it is one thing, having a pre-arranged deal is another

    They can't have a secret agreement in place that Ramirez gets traded, uses the escape clause and comes back to the Cubs, that would be tampering. He can have his mind set on doing so, but he can't have some agreement lined up w/ Hendry. And IMO, Ramirez should uses the escape clause, b/c Adrain Beltre has a 5-year 64M deal, and Ramirez has better #'s than Beltre.

    Howry, Erye, Ohman, Dempster should be in the 2007 plans. Ramirez we're going to keep. Walker should be traded, we can get something in return. Jones, if he plays like this at this time next year, he could be very attractive.
