  1. Rose is going to be in Philadelphia's nightmares tonight.
  2. Did I really just see Rose reject that layup? Wow.
  3. The last number I saw had their ACT ranking in the 50s. That's not maintaining the school's overall standards. That's well below. And I doubt they could get any lower.
  4. First, hiring Bob Davie. Second, hiring Ty Willingham. Third, hiring Charlie Weis. Fourth, maintaining their academic standards. Really, they're still a force on the recruiting trail. With the right coach, give them four or five years they can be back on the map. Obviously, great coaches are rare though. I wonder if they could lure Butch Davis away from the Tarheels. I think they need to look at coaches who have proven themselves consistently as college coaches. No more risks. Unless things have changed in the last 5 years, Notre Dame's academic standards for their football team are quite average.
  5. I don't think many Oregon State fans expected to give up 65 tonight.
  6. Some crazy Pac-10 officiating. This time it was Oregon State that got a big break, leading to a TD.
  7. Apparently Oregon's defense had already gone into the locker room.
  8. And that's the ballgame. Wow.
  9. What a ridiculous run by Oregon.
  10. How is there any chance that we dont jump you? I think there's a significant chance that doesn't happen. The game will likely be a sellout regardless and we still travel well with a significant percentage of our grads in Florida, DC, and NY, as well as spend a lot. Iowa has an advantage with their win over Penn State and Shonn Greene, but I don't believe ticket sales is a big issue. I wouldn't be surprised if Iowa was going to the Alamo regardless of the BCS situation. Or at least that's my hope.
  11. I only give Iowa a 40% of jumping us for the Outback, so this 17-7 Oregon lead is nice to see. Of course, if Oregon State pulls it out, Iowa can jump us for the Alamo all they want.
  12. What an amazing kick by Nebraska.
  13. They were just going to run out the clock. If he didn't break one, it wasn't going to matter what Hester did aside from him coughing it up.
  14. Orton and Forte didn't even get a clean exchange on that one. It looked like Orton didn't know exactly where Forte was going.
  15. That's two delay of games that the refs have missed on Orton and the Bears offense. Both turned into first down gains.
  16. I didn't expect to see that from Turner.
  17. Fitz has really molded together a very good defensive unit. And that was without several key members of the defensive line, our best linebacker, and a starting corner. We're still going to be jumped by Iowa now, though. But if the Big Ten only gets 1 into the BCS, that'll be for the Alamo and we'd go to the Champs. I'm more than fine with that.
  18. I love this program.
  19. Craig Moore just hit his 8th 3 pointer of the game for Northwestern...in the first freakin' half. Amazing.
  20. So I might not have to go to Detroit if we beat you Saturday?? Perhaps in theory, but the Motor City Bowl was taken off our list of consideration early this week. And apparently Wisconsin is currently pushing hard for the Insight.
  21. Big Ten bowl selection rules are amazing. Each week, it seems like something new is discovered on the parchment. Last week, Adam Rittenberg found out that if two Big Ten teams go to BCS bowls, then both the Outback and the Alamo bowls no longer have restrictions on teams they can select as long as the team(s) passed over still gets in to a contracted bowl. The Motor City and Insight already have no restrictions, meaning that the Champs Bowl would be the only one that couldn't select a team with more than one additional loss over another. Pretty soon ducks will be required to wear long pants.
  22. It may not be a bad thing unless it's for the Outback. The Champs would be better than the Alamo. Word is out that McGuffie, as well as Babb and Chambers, are leaving Michigan.
  23. Well, no Packer would be crazy enough to just pick up a Bears QB and bodyslam him after the play.
  24. Kevin Jones is inactive for the Bears, a bit of a surprise to me. The others are Marcus Hamilton, Fred Miller, Earl Bennett, Anthony Adams, and Matt Toeaina. Hillenmeyer is active, but Roach will start. Lloyd is active. Wind chills are in the low 20s in Green Bay with a 30% chance of snow. After being subject to the most miserable conditions of my life yesterday in Ann Arbor, I look forward to watching this one at home.
  25. Nice drive by Rexy.
