  1. Murton plays pepper with the wall in opposite field for an RBI double!
  2. That's strange. It might have something to do with ESPN2 picking up the USA/Japan WBC game this afternoon. Welcome back, Rammy!
  3. Giovanni Carrara has given up 5 in the 6th inning, including 2 HRs, as Cuba takes a 6-0 lead in the 6th. This would certainly be a big blow to Venezuela's chances.
  4. I believe they changed it, although this description on ESPN's website for ESPN2 isn't very definitive: ESPN2's Telecast of The World Baseball Classic Is presented by Taco Bell: Andre Agassi vs. Paul Goldstein Venezuela had the bases loaded with nobody out and failed to score. 1-0 Cuba after 5. Cuba's starting pitcher, Marti, did not give up a hit in his 4 innings of work, although he did walk 3. Santana gave up 1 run on just 2 hits over his 5 innings of work. He walked none and struck out 5.
  5. Thats probably why they had him pitch a simulated game, knock off some of the rust. Hopefully they will get him in a game soon. Dusty made it sound better than how Santo said it. This was another step forward. I'd hope that he can make a start in the next 7 or 8 days.
  6. Wood threw 10 or 11 pitches off the mound today, according to Dusty.
  7. is it just me or does it look like he threw the pitch with his right arm in the first picture? That's really strange. You can see his right hand, but I don't think the picture is backwards because the logo on his hat is facing the right way. In fact, after comparing it to the other pics of him, I think they mislabeled that as Pinto. Yeah, that's not Pinto. Is it just me or did Renyel gain a little weight?
  8. Prior's simulated game today was so-so, according to WGN Radio. He wasn't very sharp in the first inning, but looked much better in the second inning.
  9. In other WBC news, Cuba took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd against Johan and Venezuela. It looks like Vizquel tried to get the runner going from second to third on an 0-2, 2 out groundball to short, but it wasn't in time. The next batter followed with an RBI single. Santana is at 31 pitches after 2 innings of work.
  10. South Carolina can't score to save their lives right now. 15-4 Florida after 10 minutes, but one of South Carolina's baskets came on a long jumper turned alley-oop layup. Well, now they hit a fast break layup. 15-6.
  11. Guzman will follow Maddux, I believe. The game is also on FSN/MLB.tv. Thanks, Bruce. They must want Ohka to work on his hitting. And after looking at his stats, I don't blame them.
  12. Looks like Hinrich did something to his right knee there. And Songaila has a fracture in his foot.
  13. I saw a commercial on ESPN this afternoon and I thought it said the USA game would be on ESPN or ESPN2. I didn't see it again, though. No changes made to the online listings yet.
  14. Especially considering Hill never really had a place on the 25-man roster.
  15. CubWorld.com has some different stuff.
  16. There was a website that had Red Sox, Yankees, and Cubs baby clothes that I saw recently. I'll try to find it.
  17. It also looks like the game against Puerto Rico Monday night well be live on ESPN2 at 7:00.
  18. Now that's an inbounds pass.
  19. Yep. Next game is Sunday at 3:00 CDT vs. Japan. Is there any talk of them flipping the time with the Korea and Mexico game to have it on TV? I'm guessing they planned the TV schedule thinking that the US would win the pool, but right now, the game is only going to be on ESPN Deportes with no replay. I wanna actually see Japan sometime.
  20. Well, looks like he will start on six days rest, according to Cubs.com. I'm glad he won't have to come out of the 'pen.
  21. It's great that he only had to put off shoulder work for a day, but hopefully he's not pushing it:
  22. I read that earlier and was pretty surprised. I saw the headline and just assumed it was a combined no-hitter. His 65th pitch was the one that ended the game.
  23. Ohio State on probation:
  24. Yeah. That's going to be some lineup. In other WBC news, Japan is currently playing an exhibition game against the Rangers. They lead Texas 1-0 after 1.
  25. He pitches left handed for Indiana and and right handed for Purdue....now that's ambidextrous. Does he use both arms simultaneously when he pitches for IUPUI?
