  1. I've been to plenty of MLB and NBA games, and MLB crowds are typically much tamer than NBA crowds. If you start to weigh it in terms of the difference in action, I think the MLB comes out ahead on average. And the NBA provides nearly constant music and graphics to get the crowd into it. That doesn't happen in baseball during play.
  2. This sure is a fun team to watch right now. Slightly off topic, but I hate how tame NBA crowds are. Much more so than the NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS, etc...
  3. Hahaha. You know it's going well when Wallace hits a fadeaway, turnaround jumper as the shotclock expires.
  4. Stupid MNF. I'll have to listen to the first hour or so on the radio at work/in the car.
  5. Poor close to the half, but they're dominating the Celtics. I take that back. Nice shot, Duhon! Wednesday's game is on ESPN, by the way.
  6. Grossman has had 6 good games, 1 non-game (@ Jets), and 5 bad games (1 of which he still led the winning TD drive). Orton, on the other hand, can't do half the things Grossman has done this year. Rex has had two bad games in a row, yet some are making it out to look like he's had 4 or 5. If you factor in the PI/non-PI balls he threw against the Patriots, he didn't do all that poorly. And if the receivers and Turner had a good game, he probably wouldn't have been so bad. Heck, they barely threw the ball at all in the first half. Rex has shown the ability to perform well on the road (see Giants, although winning on the road won't be an issue in the playoffs), he has shown the ability to perform pretty well in the post-season despite having to air it out and play catch-up (see Carolina), and he's shown the ability to be flatout dominant. I really can't say the same about Orton.
  7. FREE AIR WILLY! btw, put the miner in the poll already! I wanna vote for him! Air Willie is/was the one issue that could unite the campus...in their hatred of Air Willie. I do, however, miss Little Willie. After the previous group was fired and before the new hires were made, they had a guy fill in who was a good foot, foot and a half shorter than the other people who wore the costume. So at a handful of non-conference basketball games that December, they had a noticeably shorter Willie running around. In order to make it look like the costume wasn't terribly huge on him, they rolled up the extra fabric and folded it up in the back. The only problem was that this made it look like Willie had a huge hump on his back. But they went through with it for several games and thus Little Willie was born.
  8. tuck rule has been a bad rule for years. no idea why it hasn't been fixed though It's one thing when the tuck rule is used when the arm is going forward. It's another when both the arm and the ball are going backward, yet it's ruled a non-reviewable forward pass.
  9. The non-fumble on the backwards "pass" and the TD-turned-safety were pretty bad.
  10. An emphatic NO to inflatable mascots in this poll. I hate them with a passion.
  11. highlights I think I need a new cable...
  12. Sparty isn't historically based. He was designed to resemble Jay Leno. But Conan will make Leno history in 2009.
  13. Tommie Harris left the stadium with a brace on his knee and his leg immobilized.
  14. I love it!
  15. Because they'd like to win a game in the playoffs for once? They probably could've won with Orton out there today. Maybe they could get HFA with him too? Should we do that? Grossman has started what, 20 games? 4 more games is a significant percentage of playing time in his development. And let's not forget that he's already played pretty well in one playoff game. This was NOT just a Grossman issue today. It's just wasn't. Berrian was a big reason for that INT on the deep ball, as was Turner. As I said, the receivers weren't getting open. The playcalling did not help Grossman out at all. And they still barely threw the ball. And I'll say this again about last week. Factor in the PI and the non-PI calls and his game looked a lot better. He deserves at least some credit for those.
  16. Seriously, this is beyond me not liking Rex anymore. Try Griese. If he doesn't work out, then go back to Rex. You no longer have anything to lose. A 0.0 rating is BEYOND pathetic. HFA isn't going to matter if Rex keeps playing like he has been. Go right back to Rex? So you sit Grossman for two or three weeks, go back to Rex right before the playoffs start, and expect him to play better than he did today? They're not facing good competition the rest of the way. Let the offense come back together again over the last four weeks. They're not going to be making any switches, so it doesn't really matter. Grossman wasn't exactly playing a good team today either. He's getting worse, not better. What's the harm in seeing if Griese can be good? Rex can't have any confidence at this point anyway, so I can't believe he's going to be crushed. The last comment is just dismissive for no reason. I don't see you going into the threads in Transactions about Zito or Bonds or Drew or anyone, telling people that their comments don't matter. They didn't play a good secondary today, yet the offense still sucked. That's not just Rex. The receivers weren't open and Turner's playcalling sucked. And the harm of going to Griese, as I said, is putting Grossman back in there in a few weeks with little to no chance to get things going again and with a bunch of rust on that arm. We already know Grossman's ceiling is well above that of Griese. If they can still cruise into HFA, why make a change? I also don't buy into the no confidence thing at all. How is it dismissive? I already addressed the issue before that. And is there anyone out there who actually thinks Lovie is going to make the change?
  17. Tommie Harris re-injured that knee, apparently, that put him on the injury report this week.

  19. Grossman was bad, Jones was bad, the receivers were bad, and the playcalling was bad. There is no reason to make a switch at QB. And there's even less of a urgency to make a switch.
  20. Ok that's fair, but to be annoyingly picky, so is the Irish  Hey, nothing historical about a leprechaun, though! Wasn't necessarily referring to Irish who like to fight.
  21. To be honest, I'm not that familiar with Big Red. I left Sparty and Tommy the Trojan off because they're historical-based, non-North American mascots. But I can add them if people want.
  22. Hahah. They're booing Rex for that....
  23. For some reason, white guy college mascots crack me up. Discuss. I'm sure I'm forgetting some, so I can add them as they're suggested.
