  1. Wonder if the media will finally start to consider the fact that young QBs have both ups and downs.
  2. The girl on the left was in my hall in the dorms a few years ago. You knew people outside of the library?
  3. Why is Subway Jarred bigger than Michael Strahan?
  4. Rookie of the year material: http://cache.deadspin.com/images/2006/05/mauricefacebook.jpg
  5. Yes you did put it in quotes...but no citation? I guess some people have better things to do than watch Gaffigan's Beyond the Pale every time Comedy Central re-airs it.
  6. Arizona leads Seattle 24-21 early 4th.
  7. "I love our holiday traditions. Like the Christmas tree, where we go out and chop down a tree and put it in our living room. Kinda sounds like the behavior of a drunk man, to me. Some woman wakes up, 'honey, why is there a...pine tree...in our living room?' 'I like it! We're gonna decorate it...for Jesus. And then I'm gonna hang my socks over the fireplace. Fill 'em with candy. Maybe I'll tie some leaves to the ceiling and see if I can get some action. Now I gotta puke on that couch. Merry Christmas.' Some people get so into Christmas that the decorate their yards. That seems completely backwards. 'Alright, chop down that tree and bring it in here. Take all these lights and put them out there. Gee, I, I really gotta get a job.'"
  8. Nope, those are their best announcers.
  9. I think for most fans, media hype has a bigger effect than salary. Just look at the A-Rod/Jeter situation. Of course, some GMs seem to focus more on media hype than on salary, as well...
  10. Nothin' but Buck, I bet! Needless to say, I won't be watching much. ha, yeah, they'll just teleport him from game to game. Will they be going with their NFL teams? I can't say I've seen a FOX college football game all year Well, no Buck. But puke: Sugar Bowl - Kenny Albert, Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Jeanne Zelasko Orange Bowl - Matt Vasgersian, Terry Donahue, Pat Haden, and Laura Okmin NC game and Fiesta Bowl - Thom Brennaman, Barry Alvarez, Charles Davis, and Chris Myers And Jimmy Johnson and Chris Rose will do the pre-game, halftime, and post-game shows. Again, puke.
  11. Nothin' but Buck, I bet! Needless to say, I won't be watching much.
  12. That's a pretty good way to describe him.
  13. Jones with a 20+ yard run, but was taken down from behind by his own man while he was breaking a tackle. Had that not happened, he would've gone all the way.
  14. 93 yard kickoff return for a TD for Drew... Wow...
  15. 24-10. I've never seen a team run like that in one half of football before.
  16. 16 rushes for 248 yards by the Jaguars. 15 rushes for 28 yards by the Colts.
  17. +48 more. Wow. That was some run by Drew. Didn't even slow down on that tackle attempt and then just burned by everyone.
  18. The Jaguars are over 200 yards on the ground now. In the first half. Of course, they only have about 35 through the air.
  19. Boy the Colts' run defense blows. Four 15+ yard runs by the Jaguars. Two by Jones-Drew, then two by Taylor. Oh, and those were consecutive plays that resulted in a TD.
  20. Why would anyone willingly listen to Buck and Aikman?
  21. I think they're waiting for Marquis to regain consciousness after he passed out when informed that Hendry was willing to give him 3/21.
  22. Jim was pretty darn reluctant to give Rich a spot in the rotation when they needed starting pitching and the season was already in the toilet. If Rich doesn't blow Miller away in Spring Training and Prior is ready to go, I'd imagine Hendry would be more likely to stick with the "proven veteran" than a guy who still has an option left. Maybe his reluctance (which I don't 100% buy anyway) had more to do with Hill's previous abyssmal efforts at the major league level? I think Hill has earned a spot, but I'm not as ga-ga over him as some has been. He had a great 2nd half last year, but I want to see a little more of it before I truly believe that is the "real" Rich Hill. Jim had other young guys up who were certainly struggling and didn't have the AAA numbers that Hill had. The way they trashed him through the media over the Barrett/AJP situation was certainly telling. I certainly think that Hill was treated differently than everyone else, so I wouldn't be surprised if that hasn't changed.
  23. Here's his monthly breakdown from last year (with the Jaxx only): May (27 ABs) - .185/.290/.333/.624 June (66 ABs) - .424/.459/.621/1.081 July (75 ABs) - .253/.325/.333/.659 August (89 ABs) - .247/.287/.315/.602 That's a post-AS break line of .225/.299/.275/.574. And his line with New Hampshire last year (130 ABs): .215/.266/.300/.566 In other words, no. He has a career .671 OPS and has never even come close to an .800 OPS once. He may "only" be 24 right now, but he's already spent 7 years in the minors and should have to repeat AA once again.
  25. Unless they put him on the IR, I'd imagine they won't really have a good sense of things for a few weeks. Vasher's hamstring is getting better, but it sure doesn't sound like he'll play Monday night. Nor should he.
