  1. That Sunday game is a day game, unless something has changed. It's still listed as a 1:20 start on Cubs.com too. I meant the 8/19 game, which is listed as TBD but will be at night on ESPN baring anything unexpected.
  2. You can get Sunday night Cards bleacher tickets for $50 on eBay or $60 on stubhub. Even opening day bleacher tickets can be had on eBay for $55 a piece if you're patient. It's still a great buyer's market. By the way, singles for the 8/17 are still available on tickets.com.
  3. I could've sworn Lou said last week that he wasn't considering Guzman for the bullpen (he'd be in the rotation either in Chicago or Iowa).

  5. How on earth does UVA get away with that?
  6. I'm not sure what's more sad: that they didn't feel that they could wait to include a World Series on there or that Neifi Perez made the cover. Still looks cool, though.
  7. Sigh. Almost, Deng.
  8. What a wonderfully executed play there...
  9. Talk about right down the middle. Lee destroyed that one.
  10. No idea why they didn't. The ref right there didn't call it. It looked like the one that ran in wanted to call it, but got shot down. Doesn't get much more obvious than that.
  11. You know, I always thought you were supposed to try and guard against the last second three when you have a three point lead. Guess they don't teach everyone that.
  12. Call the flagrant!
  13. Apparently Roy Williams was so addicted to Coke that he made his mom take on extra work just to pay for his habit. Sad, really.
  14. I went in this morning and took a look to see if there were any dugout tickets left for the 9/21 game. There weren't, though, so I didn't get anything. Not sure I would have, anyways.
  15. I didn't think the Bulls would get anything to go down in the last couple of minutes. Thank goodness they pulled it out.
  16. I was able to get second row dugout seats for a value game in April last year in the time slot opened up for most of the people who get rejected for the primary slots. I'd say you have a decent chance of getting them.
  17. Picked up my tickets this morning. I must say I like the new look for tickets. A little bigger, but a much better design. Nothing else to add.
  18. The Bulls aren't exactly having an easy time with the Celtics at the UC. I blame those jerseys.
  19. Dugout or bullpen for a value game is really the only way to go with those seats. If you're going to pay that much money for a regular or prime game, though, I'm not sure it's worth it. Sure it's great to be up close, but you're actually a little lower than the playing field when you're behind the plate and you don't get a great view often.
  20. I know he didn't tell anyone about his back until shortly after he was traded, but did we ever find out when it started to become a problem?
  21. A couple of things: -The Cubs are aware that Guzman should be well ahead of Prior considering his time in winterball. And if Prior can start in the big league rotation, he will start in the big league rotation. Marquis will also have Angel blocked for at least a short while. -Guzman's curve and change weren't there today. His fastball certainly was, though, and while the grounders were quite encouraging, Angel is ahead of most of the pitchers right now. And that means he's ahead of the hitters, as well. At this point in spring training, he has the advantage over hitters with a consistent 94-96 mph fastball. But in another week or two, they'll be used to that. The rotation won't be decided before then, so he'll have to keep it up.
  22. They're basically only going to be available at the box office. Games that are sold out don't get re-opened through tickets.com (or by phone, I believe) unless there are other tickets released by the Cubs shortly before the game.
  23. Guzman was pretty much operating only with his fastball there today, which makes the ground balls pretty impressive. We'll see when he can get his curve going consistently.
  24. Guzman sure is getting a lot of grounders on his fastball. I can't wait to see him when he actually has his curve.
  25. The lack of control worries me the most. Same here. His command with the fastball isn't bad. He's falling behind because his curve ball has missed low and away every time he has thrown it except one. But his curve isn't something to really be concerned with right now. His fastball wasn't that consistent, but it's an improvement. He's getting a little better velocity, a little better command, and a little better movement on his fastball. And Plesac may have been right for once when he said that Prior has to relearn to pitch with a slower fastball right now. He's throwing the ball where he's used to throwing it with a harder fastball.
