  1. It looks like there will be small pockets near you that could get some pretty severe storms a little later. Still, looking at it's path, we may get lucky. Either way, it's going to be close.
  2. Right now it's barely raining here, but humid as all hell. Just wait a few minutes.
  3. As a matter of fact most of the viewers didn't understand why this former HS phenom/current NBA star was talking about baseball instead of basketball. Based on the half segment that I saw, Morely Safer didn't understand any of it.
  4. It should start raining in the next 30 minutes or so and probably won't be out of here until around the scheduled start time or a little later. The back end will probably produce thunderstorms, as well. So while it'll be wet, the real threat to whether or not they play today is what's currently in central Missouri. Let's hope it stays south.
  5. I don't get those who go so far out of their way to trash high school recruits. Have they ever met a teenage boy before? 90% of them should be locked up until they're ready for college for the sake of society. Most have no concept of responsibility and consequence and the others are just major pains in the butt. If the worst that they're doing is related to the politics of basketball, we should be thankful.
  6. Different. Parking wears Red, Ushers wear Blue, Crowd management wears white. Chances are we'll all be in big puffy blue coats today, though. Howwweevveerrrrr, I'm off! Stopping at the bank to pick up some dough and then I'm off to the game! Have a good day, cubs fans, GO CUBS! That's good news. I never liked ushers wearing Cardinal red, even though you want them to stand out from the rest of the crowd. I'll take bright yellow or any other color over red.
  7. Looking at the radar, it seems like we'll probably get some brief but heavy storms sometime after first pitch. The real question will be whether or not the storms behind it will stay south, though. If that first wave doesn't break up, hopefully they will delay the start of the game an hour or two rather than try to start on time and only go a couple of innings.
  8. Roast, will you guys not be wearing red this year? Or are "ushers" different than "crowd management?"
  9. It's pretty easy to move Dempster back to the bullpen. It's not like getting extra rotation depth is irreversible.
  10. See you next year, Gus.
  11. That's a shame for Curry. He had a major brain freeze after his defender fell down. All he had to do was take the quick screen and shoot the open three.
  12. I hope Davidson goes for it all here.
  13. Please watch the language.
  14. It's not an issue of what Marshall should do. It's about the poor decisions that Hendry has and continues to make.
  15. I rather how Marshall in AAA as a starter, where he is better suited for, then at the major league as a reliever, in which he would be a square forced into a circle. At least in AAA as a starter, he can keep his arm loose, and stretch out in case of an injury. It's not that the Cubs hate Marshall, quite the opposite, it's there is no room. Dempster getting moved to the rotation and Lieber/ Marquis being signed created no room. Dempster should be goneat the end of the season. Marquis is easily a decent trade chip after the season, especially if he can keep his ERA in the mid 4.00. And Lieber is likely to retire after the season. So all Marshall has to do is bid his time in 2008. Which sucks for him...and the Cubs. He has 43 major league starts of the last two years and is a better pitcher than all three of those guys. It's not like Hendry and Piniella didn't have a choice in moving Dempster to the rotation, keeping Marquis there, and signing Lieber.
  16. When will the laughter turn into concern?
  17. If George Bush gets to be surrounded by Texas cheerleaders for a photo op, I'm hoping Arkansas makes the Elite 8 sometime soon.
  18. We can't even get a close game between a 1 and 2 seed now.
  19. Great start to the season, LA.
  20. Ridiculous: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QCU8oMbAkfs
  21. Apparently he retired a few months ago. http://www.soccercityusa.com/timberjim/rafters-s.jpg http://www.soccercityusa.com/timberjim/sawonlog-s.jpg Now that would be cool to see at an MLS game.
  22. Now come on, Louisville (I have neither team in my Final Four).
  23. To be fair, they had nearly 14,000 tickets sold today. And the Fire won't do much better for their home opener. Wow again. Apparently Seattle already has 13,000 season ticket deposits.
  24. Wow. Columbus drew 3,002 fans? Toronto's fans are great. They sold what, 16,000 season tickets? That's incredible for the MLS.
