  2. So they bring Villanueva in, and he prompty issues a bases loaded walk? Turnbow could have done that....
  3. This is just too funny!
  4. Another WP please, Linebrick.
  5. Suicide watch for Brewer fans is in full effect.....all 5 of them.
  6. I know that some of us were around in 1969 and how we felt with this Cubs collapse, but the "Miracle Mets" that year have become a part of baseball folklore. Can you imagine what would be different had they not won the WS that year. The movie Frequency would not have been made, for example.
  7. LOL, stolen from the Brewers message boards:
  8. I hate the Cards....they are now hurting the Cubs by sucking when the Cubs need them to win.
  9. Not to be cliche but hindsight is always 20/20.
  10. I always wondered what the people who go to Wrigley day games during the week do for money....
  11. Braun up. This game's just about over, folks.
  12. I seem to recall the Cubs being in ATL when the Ramirez/Lofton deal was made. They had just lost a tough one to the Brave in which Tom Goodwin pulled up with a torn hamstring on a triple. Lofton was coming over to take CPatt's place and then later we re-aquired Doug Glanville because of Goodwin's injury. Glanville's triple in the NLCS still brings a smile to my face.
  13. Maybe he's talking about him tracking balls into short right field. If we're going outside the box enough to trade for a 1B(Teixeira!) and move Lee to the OF, it might be a better allocation of resources just to trade Lee. His value to another team as a 1B is greater than his value to us as an OF because of his defense. He also has a large contract, and there's the thing about him not hitting for very much power. He'd make a great centerpiece for A-Rod if you had Teixeira in hand... I can't fathom Hendry having the guts to trade Lee. I too, can't imagine trading my favorite player in sports.
  14. Man, the Cubs are a doubles machine tonight.
  15. GEEZUS EFFING CHRIST!!! Is Mike Stanton worthless or what???
  16. Mind you, that's a play that Theriot very well might have needed to dive at just to get to. As such, there's no guarantee he would have made an error. Better range gives more chances to make "errors." Is that kinda like how the best base stealers are also the ones who get thrown out the most?
  17. And that is why they are the Giants.
  18. When was the last time the NL MVP did not go to the playoffs? Just saying in case the Cubs win the division and the Brewers do not....
  19. For a $75,000 item, he really should take better pictures of it.
  20. I think we all learned yesterday that no lead is safe.
  21. Not really. It doesn't matter how many times a player goes up and down during the year, it's still just one option. Interesting....
