  1. That's nothing.
  2. How? How? HOW does Braden Looper completely befuddle our offense and then pitch BP to the Pirates?
  3. Brewers recalled Elmer Dessens, so they got a fresh arm.
  4. Man, and then the Cubs could resign Z next year....
  5. This better not be the game where the Brewers turn things around.....
  6. From the urine on Alou's hands?
  7. How are you guys watching? I'm just following with Gameday....guess I'll have to wait to watch the highlights on Baseball Tonight.
  8. Catcher has to get up like the ball got away but the ball is really in his glove or right next to him cause he knocked it down. 90 ft away, the runner thinks the ball got away and he gets caught in a rundown.
  9. To get the guy from third in a rundown.
  10. Is it legal to try a fake wild pitch?
  11. I'd rather face Braun with a RHP than Fielder. There's only one out... they're going to have to face them both. Might as well walk Braun and try and induce the ground ball off the bat of Fielder. Or they could try to get Braun to K or pop up and IBB Fielder.
  12. Cause they don't think Fielder will GIDP....Mets have their pick of Braun and Fielder, so I guess they feel they have a better chance with Braun.
  13. I'd rather face Braun with a RHP than Fielder.
  14. Hmm.....get more hits and there's a good chance for a win?
  15. Nothing like a little Adam Eaton to get your offense going again.
  16. Are you saying he's an adulterer? Cause if so, that's a huge accusation and you gotta be careful who you say that about.
  17. Hahahaha...the Cards still think they have a shot.
  18. My question is does anybody have BA, SLG, OBP, and OPS information for every NL team's pitchers as a whole?
  19. The interleague schedule is what makes schedules uneven within a division. The Cubs played the White Sox 6 times every year....2005 and 2006 that made the schedule harder, now it makes the schedule easier. Eh, whatever.
  20. That's only true if you think Hill not catching would somehow make Zambrano not hit. He's saying that Hill not catching will make Zambrano not pitch effectively (or at least not as ridiculously good as he has been lately). And I would definitely bat Z 8th and Hill 9th.
  21. So if we win today, who officially takes over 1st place? Are there "in-season" tiebreakers in place to determine who is 1st in the division should the top two teams have played a different number of games? Is it winning percentage? I know this doesn't really matter, but just for record-keeping purposes....
  22. Loss to Cincinatti Opening Day on ESPN2. Loss to NYM... when Wuertz walked the bases loaded. 2-3 The way I set up the database, I can only list one network as broadcasting the game. However, some the games that have been on ESPN were also on another network, and I didn't give myself a way to account for this. Anyhow, these are the games I show as being on ESPN............ Create a seperate table in your database for networks, and in that table, list the network and the game in each row. You can account for multiple networks since that will be two rows in that table, both associated with the same game.
  23. no no no no. leaving runners on base is a symptom of scoring a lot of runs. teams that score a lot of runs leave a lot of runners on base. by and large, year after year, the teams that leave the most runners on base make less outs and score more runs. i think it's a very positive thing, the cubs aren't relying solely on hitting in the non-existent "clutch". teams that do that generally don't have any staying power. Yeah, we can't end every inning with a 2-out HR.
  24. :-k Sac fl(ies)y and a home run (grand slam?)? He didn't score, so no HR. 2 Sac flies and a 3-run double.
