So DirecTV is out in the Chicago area and I can't watch the Hawks game .... I want blood.

well there are loads of times when it's good to take a penalty, like tackling a defensive end who's about to steamroll your qb from the blind side, or a defensive back hauling down or holding a wide receiver who has him badly beat on a double move. or taking an intentional delay of game on a punt. and this is ignoring all the circumstances in which a team commits a dirty play and hurts an important player on the other team, but only faces a 15 yard penalty. the competition committee is really going to have their work cut out for them if they're going to ban every penalty that may be advantageous to the offending team. I should say strategically advantageous ... advantageous in the context of football strategy.

It literally makes no difference. The play doesn't stop after a hold. The play would still play out and still be a safety because of the penalty in the end zone. It was actually brilliant to blatantly hold like that. Yeah, competition committee should take a look at that. Under no circumstances should committing a penalty actually be advantageous to you.

I'm comforted by the fact that this doesn't tarnish the Blackhawks play on the ice since SHOOTSOUTS ARE NOT HOCKEY. It's like if the Bulls played to a tie with another team and then lost on a free throw shooting contest. It doesn't make me feel worse about the Bulls actual basketball playing abilities.

None of which is illegal. Um. True? Did someone say it was illegal? No, but reading between the lines, you guys are making it sound like he should be punished. He should be punished. I think we get a very tall man to take down his pants and make him walk down the street while everybody points and laughs at him. Have it be a tie-in with the NFL draft. The real villain here looks to be Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who probably did break the law.

It still seems really weird that you'd mention it along with your REAL dead relatives. This is what they quoted him as saying after Dec. 6th: I mean, how should that answer have been handled? Something like this? Teo: I lost both my grandparents to cancer. Reporter: And your girlfriend too right? Teo: Oh yeah ... her as well.

I actually don't think Teo lying in interviews after he found out it was a hoax on Dec. 6th is that big of a deal. Obviously he's not going to break such an explosive story in a casual, fluff interview.

I've never come across a story so big that was still evolving like this. Usually when stories this big breaks, all the facts are known and it all comes out at once.

As a Packers fan, even I could barely stay awake in the second half.

They might be the best conference by default, but somehow are still overrated 3-2-1 against the spread so far would indicate they are properly rated by people. No one is talking about how Vegas rates the SEC. Spreads are determined by the trends of the bettors, which isn't Vegas.
